League 1 Opta Facts - 23 Jan

Barnsley v Rochdale

The Tykes have won 13 of their 17 home league games (D3 L1) against Rochdale in their history, including a 5-0 hammering in May 2015.

Although Rochdale have only won one league game at Oakwell in their Football League history, they did win there 1-0 in August 2010 in the League Cup thanks to a goal from Anthony Elding.

Barnsley striker Sam Winnall has scored inside the first 20 minutes of Barnsley's previous two home league games.

Rochdale have not lost an away game this season when Ian Henderson has opened the scoring (W2 D1).

Burton Albion v Shrewsbury Town

Burton won each of the previous two league meetings with Shrewsbury by a 1-0 score-line.

Shrewsbury were unbeaten in seven league games against Burton (W4 D3) prior to those two defeats to the Brewers.

Burton won this fixture earlier in the season at Greenhous Meadow thanks to a 90th minute goal from Mark Duffy.

Indeed, each of that last four games between these sides have ended 1-0, with Burton winning two and Shrewsbury winning two and all four of the winning goals coming after half-time.

These two sides met in the Conference in the 2003/04 season, with Shrewsbury winning both games 1-0 and Luke Rodgers scoring the winner on each occasion.

Current Burton manager Nigel Clough played in the second Conference meeting in February 2004.

Chesterfield v Millwall

Chesterfield have won five in a row at home against Millwall in the league, last tasting defeat on home soil to the Lions in May 1983.

Millwall have won only one of their last 10 league games against the Spireites (D3 L6).

After going through December with just one goal in four games, Chesterfield have scored 11 goals in three games in January.

Only two teams in League One have picked up more points than Millwall on the road this season (Walsall - 28, Burton Albion - 24).

Crewe Alexandra v Wigan Athletic

Crewe haven't kept a clean sheet in any of their last 10 league encounters with Wigan (W2 D1 L7), conceding 20 goals at an average of two per game.

The Latics have won six of their last seven league games against Crewe (L1), and also won 3-2 at Gresty Road earlier in the season in the Football League Trophy.

Only once this season have Crewe managed to score more than one goal in a home game - that was back in August 2015.

Wigan are looking to extend their unbeaten away streak to ten, having not lost a game on the road since September (W4 D5).

Fleetwood Town v Doncaster Rovers

This will be only the fourth meeting between these sides in history, with each side winning one game each (D1).

Fleetwood, in the only other meeting at Highbury, won 3-1 last season thanks to goals from Stephen Dobbie, Liam McAlinden and David Ball.

Despite sitting just one place above the relegation zone coming into the game, Fleetwood have scored four or more goals on three occasions at Highbury Stadium this season.

Doncaster have scored the most goals from direct free-kicks in League One this season (4).

Gillingham v Peterborough United

Gillingham have lost just once in a home league game to Peterborough in their entire history (3-2 in February 1991), winning seven and drawing 10 of the other encounters.

August 2015's fixture between these sides saw two goals scored in the last five minutes, with Posh's Jon Taylor's 90th minute equaliser cancelling out Adedeji Oshilaja's 85th minute goal for Gillingham.

Gillingham have scored the most goals at home in League One this season (29).

Peterborough have scored the most goals away from home in League One this season (26).

Oldham Athletic v Bury

Oldham have lost only two of their previous 11 league games with Bury, though both of these defeats were at home (November 2011 and November 2012).

Six of the last 10 league meetings between these sides have ended as draws, including the most recent game in August 2015, a 1-1 draw at Gigg Lane.

Oldham - who have won one home league game all season and are winless in 12 at Boundary Park (D4 L8) - are now managed by John Sheridan, who masterminded a run of six home wins in a row between March and September 2008 during his last spell in charge of the Latics.

Port Vale v Bradford City

The Valiants are without a win in four league games against Bradford (D2 L2), this after winning seven of their previous 10 games against them (D3)

Bradford haven't scored more than twice in a game against Port Vale since September 1998 when they won 4-0 in the season they gained promotion to the Premier League.

Port Vale are unbeaten in eight games at Vale Park, with four of those wins coming in the previous five (W5 D3).

Bradord City have won all three of their games in which Tony McMahon has opened the scoring this season, while two of those have come away from home.

Scunthorpe United v Colchester United

Scunthorpe are unbeaten in 12 league games against Colchester, though eight of those games have been draws (W4).

Colchester haven't won at Glanford Park since February 1995, failing to win any of their last 10 league games there (D5 L5).

After scoring five goals in Scunthorpe's first seven home games, top scorer Paddy Madden has failed to find in the net in the six games since.

Colchester have shipped 53 goals in their last 20 away trips in League One, conceding two goals or more on 15 of these occasions.

Sheffield United v Swindon Town

Sheffield United have never failed to score against Swindon at Bramall Lane, netting in 15 league games with the Robins, winning 12 (D2 L1).

Swindon have failed to score in five of their previous nine games (including play-offs) against the Blades, but have netted 14 goals in those other four games.

Billy Sharp has scored in six consecutive league matches for Sheffield United, scoring first on four of the six occasions.

Swindon have conceded in each of their 14 home league games this season, a run stretching back to April 2015 (17 home league games without a clean sheet).

Southend United v Coventry City

Southend are without a win in three league games (D1 L2) against Coventry at Roots Hall despite winning the four prior to their current run.

Both teams have scored in each of the last eight league meetings, a total of 36 goals at an average of 4.5 goals a game.

No team in League One has received more yellow cards than Southend this season (58).

Only Burton Albion (10) have conceded fewer goals away from home than Coventry (11) so far.

Walsall v Blackpool

Walsall are unbeaten in 14 home league matches with Blackpool (W9 D5) and have only lost once to the Tangerines in a home game in their history, that defeat coming in September 1900.

Blackpool have never kept an away league clean sheet at Walsall in their entire history, conceding 42 goals in 18 games.

Rory Donnelly has scored four goals in his last three league games for Gillingham, after a run of nine games without one.

No team has taken fewer points than Blackpool away from home this season (8).
