League 1 Super Sunday - live on Sky Sports 2

13:15 - Preston v MK Dons

With the international break in full swing the lower leagues get their moment in the spotlight and first up to take advantage is 2 teams that should be there or thereabouts come the end of the season, Preston and the MK Dons.

Preston (9/5) look really good value to win this game as they have been pretty solid at home and can build on the 4-2 away victory at Morecambe in the JPT midweek. Deepdale has really been the place to be in League 1 for goals this season as the 5 games have seen a total of 18 goals, 13 of which scored by the home side, making going over on the goals very appealing, over 2.5 is an even money shot while over 3.5 is a massive 5/2.

Preston will be able to shore up defensively by welcoming back Shane Cansdell-Sherriff while striker Akpo Sodje (5/1 First/Last, 5/4 Anytime) is also expected to be recalled following his midweek double. The striker is a real handful at this level and can provide the perfect foil for Stuart Beavon (11/2 First/Last, 6/4 Anytime) to wreak havoc. Beavon is also the subject of our enhanced anytime wincast, for him to score in a Preston win has been boosted from 3/1 to 4/1.

MK Dons (13/8, Draw 21/10) look like they have a huge challenge ahead of them to win this, their away form is poor to say the least. In the league this season they have won just once on their travels and that came against bottom of the league Bury. They will need a huge upturn in order to avoid defeat.

The only new team news for the MK Dons is the suspension of key defender Anthony Kay that could leave an already fragile defence on the road a little weaker. They do have plenty of attacking talent though and this could turn into a goalfest, both teams look more than capable of scoring and both teams to score at 7/10 looks a banker. For the Dons Dean Bowditch (6/1 First/Last, 7/4 Anytime) is the subject of our offer being pushed out from 10/3 to 9/2. However I predict a high scoring defeat for the Dons, 3-1 Preston (22/1) and 3-2 Preston (33/1) would be the picks.

Top bet: Both teams to score @ 7/10

Worth a punt: Preston win and over 2.5 goals @ 16/5

15:30 - Shrewsbury v Walsall

The second set of teams looking to shine in the rare spotlight sees a derby game of sorts at the Greenhous Meadow as rivals Shrewsbury and Walsall clash.

Shrewsbury (5/4) had made an encouraging start in the early weeks but are finding life a lot tougher now as they are mired in a run of just one win from their last nine fixtures and they have struggled against today's opponents as they are winless in six (lost three and drawn three). They were impressive last season but the step up in class has been quite difficult and they appear up against it here.

Shrewsbury do have an unenviable injury list heading into the clash but one player set to return is Asa Hall (16/1 First/Last, 6/1 Anytime), he scored in the JPT defeat at Crewe and is pushing for a start. Marvin Morgan (9/2 First/Last, 6/5 Anytime) will lead the line and will probably be partnered with either Tom Bradshaw (7/1 First/Last, 2/1 Anytime) or Ryan Doble (13/2 First/Last, 15/8 Anytime). Marvin Morgan is the subject of our enhanced anytime wincast, him to score in a Shrews win has been enhanced from 2/1 to 3/1

Walsall (23/10, draw 11/5) look a cracking bet to win this, they have been good away from home where they have won three of five in the league this term and this should make number four. They will have to bounce back from the penalty shoot-out defeat to Port Vale in the JPT but are more than capable of doing so against the Shrews. They have lost Will Grigg to international duty but influential Florent Cuvelier (10/1 First/Last, 7/2 Anytime) should be back from his Belgium under-21 responsibilities to line up.

The Saddlers look the best bet here in what should be a low scoring affair, I think a correct score of 1-0 or 2-1 to Walsall look the most backable at 17/2 and 11/1 respectively while the double result of draw/Walsall at 6/1 also appeals. It's a real tough call on the goals over 2.5 is 21/20 (under 7/10) and the both teams to score, where yes is 4/5 and no is 19/20 and so I would personally steer clear

Top bet: Walsall @ 23/10

Worth a punt: Florent Cuvelier @ 7/2
