League One Opta Facts - Sept 5th & 6th

Southend v Peterborough

Southend won their last home meeting with Peterborough 1-0 back in August 2008, courtesy of a goal from Peter Clarke.

The Posh won 4-0 in the most recent clash with Southend in 2012/13 Capital One Cup.

The Shrimpers have conceded in their previous two home games, but haven't conceded in three consecutively since October 2014.

Posh are winless in seven away league games (D2 L5).

Southend are yet to register a win in their opening five league games, last going the opening six games without a victory in 1987/88.

Barnsley v Shrewsbury

This will be the first meeting between these two teams since 1989 when Barnsley won 1-0 at Oakwell.

Shrewsbury have lost four of their last five league games against Barnsley (all in the 1980s), drawing the other.

After winning in his first four games as Barnsley manager, Lee Johnson has won just three of the next 15 games (D7 L5), though he has lost just one home game.

The Shrews have conceded more than once in just one of their last 16 away games (2-1 defeat to Tranmere in February).

The Tykes are without a goal in two games, last going three without scoring in April 2014.

Chesterfield v Wigan

Chesterfield have scored just seven goals in their last nine league games against Wigan and haven't netted more once vs the Latics since October 1997.

Wigan have won six and lost none of their last 11 league clashes with Chesterfield.

Chesterfield have lost one of their last six games (W3 D2).

The Latics have lost five of their last six away games (D1).

Wigan have failed to score in any of their last four away league matches.

Crewe v Swindon

Both Crewe and Swindon saw red in this exact fixture last season (0-0) - the first red cards in this matchup since December 2008.

The away side has failed to score in eight of the last 11 league fixtures between Crewe and Swindon.

Crewe are without a home win in seven games (D5 L2). Another failure to win would represent their longest drought without a victory since February 2006 (eight games).

The Robins have kept one clean-sheet in their last 11 league games (W3 D5 L3), conceding 19 goals in that time.

Swindon's Fabien Robert has scored with every shot on target this season (3).

Fleetwood v Rochdale

Fleetwood have won three of the last four meetings with Rochdale, drawing the other.

Dale have failed to score in four of their six previous league matches versus the Cod Army.

Fleetwood haven't won back-to-back home league games since November 2014.

Since conceding in 16 consecutive away games between November 2014 and May 2015, Dale have kept two clean sheets in two games on the road this term.

Rochdale drew 0-0 in their previous away game at Chesterfield; they haven't had two consecutive away goalless draws since April 2005.

Gillingham v Doncaster

Gillingham have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last seven versus Doncaster, this after recording three in a row before this current run.

Donny have won only once in their last 20 visits to Gillingham in league competition (D5 L14).

Gillingham have scored in 11 consecutive games, losing just one (W6 D4 L1).

Doncaster have scored one goal in their last four away league games (D1 L3).

Donny have kept three clean-sheets in their last four league games (W1 D2 L1).

Oldham v Bradford

Oldham and Bradford met three times in 2014/15 (twice in the league, once in the JPT); with the home side winning on each occasion (Oldham twice).

Bradford's last league win at Oldham came back in February 1997 - they've lost four of the five games since (D1).

Oldham have drawn eight of their last 10 games (W1 L1).

The Bantams have scored exactly one goal in eight of their last 12 games (W3 D4 L5), failing to score in the other four.

Oldham have scored more than once in just two of their last 22 league games (W4 D9 L9).

Scunthorpe v Blackpool

Scunthorpe have found the back of the net in all of their previous home league games against Blackpool (11 games).

Blackpool have won five of their previous six meetings with The Iron (D1).

Scunthorpe's Paddy Madden has scored with three of his five shots on target this season, but has also had the most shots off target (11) in League One.

The Tangerines have scored the joint-lowest number of goals (3) and conceded the most (12) in League One this season.

Blackpool have conceded a staggering 62 goals in the calendar year, 10 more than second-worst Swindon in the top four tiers.

Sheff Utd v Colchester

The Blades have won five and drawn five of their last 10 league encounters with Colchester.

The U's have failed to win any of their last seven visits to Bramall Lane in the league (D2 L5).

Since losing 4-0 to Gillingham on the opening day, The Blades have won four in a row, their best run since March 2014.

Colchester have conceded 22 goals in their last nine away league games (W2 D1 L6).

Sheffield United have scored in 15 consecutive games at Bramall Lane (W8 D4 L3).

Walsall v Bury

Walsall have gone 10 league games without keeping a clean sheet versus the Shakers.

Bury have lost only once in their last seven visits to Walsall in league competition, winning five (D1).

A win against Bury would give Walsall a fifth win in a row for the first time since August 2005.

Bury have drawn four of their last five league games (L1).

If Walsall avoid defeat against Bury it'll be the first time they've gone unbeaten in their opening six league games since 2006/07.

Burton v Coventry

This will be the first competitive meeting between these two sides at the Pirelli Stadium.

The only previous game between Coventry and Burton arrived in the JPT in 2012, when the two sides played out a 0-0 draw after 120 minutes, with the Sky Blues progressing 10-9 on penalties.

Abdenasser El Khayati has scored with three of his four shots on target for the Brewers this term.

Coventry have lost only one of their last eight away games in league competition, though it was their most recent outing vs Walsall (W5 D2).

Burton have lost only once in their last 17 league games, winning 13 (D3).

The Sky Blues have kept a clean sheet in five of their last seven away games.
