League Two Opta Facts – 15/16 November


Newport v Hartlepool

  • The Exiles have won three consecutive matches at home in League Two.
  • Hartlepool United have won five of their last six league games (L1).
  • This is the first ever meeting between the two sides.
  • Pools have scored a league-high five goals from outside the area in open play, while Newport are the only League Two side yet to find the net in this way.
  • Newport County have scored 14 goals in the first half this season - more than any other side.


AFC Wimbledon v Portsmouth

  • AFC Wimbledon haven't won any of their previous three league games at Kingsmeadow (D1 L2).
  • Pompey have managed to record just one win in their last 12 away games in league competition (D7 L4).
  • This is the first times the two sides have met each other in competition.
  • The Wombles are the only League Two side yet to score in the opening 30 minutes of any game this season and have mustered just four in the first half all campaign.
  • Portsmouth have scored seven times in the 15 minutes before half the interval in League Two this season - more than any other team.


Bristol Rovers v Bury

  • Bristol Rovers have lost just one of the last seven league meetings with the Shakers (W3 D3).
  • Bury have failed to score in their last three league clashes with the Pirates, losing all three.
  • 58% of the Gas' goals this season have come from midfielders - the highest proportion in League Two.
  • The Shakers have conceded a league-high three goals from direct free kicks this season.
  • Bury's win at Adams Park against Wycombe last time out was their first away win of the campaign (D1 L5).


Dag & Red v Burton

  • Dagenham are unbeaten in their last six home games against Burton, winning four and drawing twice (including non-league).
  • The Brewers have won just one of the last 13 encounters with The Daggers, drawing four and losing eight (including non-league matches).
  • Three of the last four meetings between these two teams have ended 1-1.
  • Burton have scored eight times away from home in the first half of fixtures, more than any other side in League Two.
  • Rhys Murphy has found the net in six of his last eight appearances for Dagenham and Redbridge but just two have come at home.


Exeter v Southend

  • The Grecians have kept a clean sheet in four of their last five meetings with Southend (W3 D1 L1).
  • Southend have lost their last four league trips to St James Park, failing to score on three of those occasions.
  • Exeter have scored nine times in the final 15 minutes of League Two fixtures this season, more than any other side.
  • Anthony Straker has scored three times in his last two games for United, having scored just once all season beforehand (in all competitions).
  • Exeter have failed to score in four of their last six fixtures (in all competitions).


Mansfield v Oxford Utd

  • Mansfield have lost three of their last four meetings against the O's, all of which came in the Football Conference (L1).

Northampton v Fleetwood

  • The Cobblers have won both of the home games against Fleetwood, their last encounter in the league (3-1) and in the FA Cup in 2009 (2-1).

  • Stanley have let in five goals in the 15 minutes directly after half-time, a joint-League Two high.
  • Sam Winnall has scored in four of his last six League Two games for Scunthorpe.


Torquay v Chesterfield

  • Torquay are unbeaten in their last four matches against Chesterfield, winning two and drawing two (in all competitions).
  • The Spireites haven't won in 10 league trips to Plainmoor (D5 L5).
  • Torquay have shipped seven goals in the final 15 minutes of League Two games this season, a joint-league-high.
  • Chesterfield have conceded just 14 goals this season - only Oxford have let in fewer.

Wycombe v Cheltenham

  • Byron Harrison has found the net in his last three league appearances for Cheltenham.


York v Plymouth

  • York have lost just one of the last 12 games at Bootham Crescent against the Pilgrims (W5 D6).
  • The away team has scored on just one occasion in the last ten meetings between York and Plymouth (York 1-2 Plymouth in March 2001).
  • York have scored just once in the final 15 minutes this season in League Two - the fewest of any side.
  • Plymouth have conceded the joint-fewest first half goals in League Two this season (5) but have also scored the joint-fewest in the second half (4).
  • The Pilgrims have kept a clean sheet in each of their last four games, but have scored just twice. By contrast, York haven't kept a clean sheet in their last four, but have found the net nine times.
