League Two Opta Facts - October 11th 2014


 

Cambridge United v Oxford United

  • This will be the first Football League meeting between the two university towns since February 2005. Cambridge won that day 2-1.
  • That defeat is Oxford's only defeat in six Football League games against Cambridge (W1 D4).
  • Danny Hylton has directly contributed to exactly half of Oxford's league goals this campaign.
  • Oxford are yet to win on the road this season, drawing two and losing three.
  • Cambridge have scored nine headed goals in League Two this term; a joint-high with Northampton.

Northampton Town v Burton Albion

  • The last three league games between these sides have been settled by a single goal, with Northampton winning twice.
  • Burton have failed to score in their last two trips to Sixfields.
  • Marc Richards has scored eight goals from 11 shots on target in League Two this term.
  • The Cobblers have scored in their last eight league games; the joint-longest current run in League Two with Accrington.

  • Mansfield have scored exactly two goals in three of their four previous clashes with Portsmouth.
  • Portsmouth have drawn their last three league games, with the last two ending goalless.
  • Mansfield have netted four goals in the opening 15 minutes of games this season; a joint-league-high.
  • The Stags have gone 229 minutes of league football without scoring.

Shrewsbury Town v Cheltenham Town

  • The Shrews are unbeaten in seven league games against Cheltenham (W4 D3).
  • Cheltenham have failed to score in four of their last five against Shrewsbury.
  • The Robins have managed just three goals in their last seven league outings.
  • Shrewsbury have only managed one goal in their last 560 minutes of league action.
  • The Shrews are the only League Two side still undefeated on home soil this campaign.

Tranmere Rovers v Plymouth Argyle

  • Tranmere have won five of their last six league matches against the Pilgrims, losing the other.
  • Plymouth's only win in six against Rovers was a 6-0 victory in October 2003.
  • Pilgrims frontman Reuben Reid has scored 12 league goals in 2014; a joint-high in the bottom tier alongside now-Barnsley striker Sam Winnall.
