League Two Opta Facts - September 19


Accrington v Exeter

  • Accrington Stanley have lost their last three matches against the Grecians in League Two at the Crown Ground, conceding three each time.
  • Exeter Striker Tom Nichols has scored four in his last four League Two matches against Accrington Stanley.
  • In the eight League Two encounters between these two sides, there has yet to be a draw. Accrington Stanley winning three times, Exeter winning the other five times.
  • City have failed to score only on one occasion against Stanley in League Two.


AFC Wimbledon v Notts County

  • This will be the first ever meeting between these two clubs.
  • The Magpies have only managed one win in their last six league trips to London (D1 L4).
  • The Dons failed to win any of their eight clashes with newly-relegated sides last season (D4 L4) but started this season with a win against recently relegated Crawley Town, as well as drawing with Yeovil last weekend.
  • The Magpies have shipped 12 in their last three away games in all competitions.


Barnet v Stevenage

  • Barnet and Stevenage have met twice in League Two, the Boro winning on both occasions and scoring seven goals.
  • Both of these sides had very different seasons last year with the Bees promoted from non-league and Stevenage relegated from League One.
  • The Bees have won just one of their last eight games in this tier (D1 L6).
  • This League Two fixture has seen nine goals in the past two encounters in the league.


Crawley v Yeovil

  • This will be the first meeting between these sides in League Two. The newly-relegated clubs both met four times in League One, with Yeovil coming out victorious in two of the encounters (D1 L1).
  • Jimmy Smith assisted a goal in each of the last two league clashes against the Glovers for Crawley.
  • These teams met each other three times last season, with the home team winning on each occasion (League One and FA Cup).
  • Red Devils' striker Lee Barnard has scored five times in his eight league appearances against the Glovers.


Dagenham & Redbridge v Newport

  • Dagenham have won two out of the four League Two matches played against Newport (D1 L1), although both victories came at Rodney Parade.
  • The Exiles have scored in each of the four encounters with the Daggers in the league.
  • In the last match between these two clubs in April 2015, all five of the goals were scored after the 78th minute, with Dagenham edging it 3-2.
  • All three of Newport County's goals past Dagenham last season came in the 90th minute or later.


Hartlepool v Cambridge

  • Hartlepool have only lost one match against Cambridge in their last seven league meetings (W3 D3).
  • Cambridge are winless in their last four away league matches against Pool (D2 L2), the U's won the previous four encounters before this.
  • Brad Walker scored in both League Two encounters against the U's last season.
  • Both League Two clashes last season between these two ended in a 2-1 loss for the side playing away.


Leyton Orient v Wycombe

  • Even though the O's have met the Chairboys 15 times in all competitions, this fixture has never resulted in a draw.
  • Wycombe have lost three out of the last five against Orient, but have won their last two.
  • Leyton Orient have scored in the last eight consecutive league matches against Wycombe Wanderers.
  • The Chairboys are the only League Two side yet to concede away from this season, while Leyton Orient are yet to ship a goal at home.


Luton v Mansfield

  • The Hatters have lost four of their last six league encounters (W2 L4) against Mansfield in the Football League, although two of those three matches were home wins.
  • The Stags' failure to score in this exact fixture last November was the first time they'd not score at Kenilworth Road in the Football League (nine games).
  • Luton have scored in seven of their last eight Football League matches, though failed to net in their last meeting in April with them.
  • Mansfield have only one win in their last seven trips to Luton in the Football League (D3 L3).


Morecambe v Northampton

  • Morecambe have only managed one win against Northampton in the 12 League Two clashes between the clubs (D4 L7).
  • Northampton have won by a single-goal margin in the last two league clashes with the Shrimps (2-1 and 1-0).
  • Morecambe have failed to score on three out of the last six occasions against Northampton, netting once in the other three games.
  • The Cobblers have picked up 14 out of 18 points at Morecambe in League Two (W4 D2).


Oxford United v Portsmouth

  • The last three league encounters between these sides have only seen one solitary goal scored (by Pompey in August 2014).
  • The U's are on their longest winless streak against Portsmouth since 1984, having failed to win any of their last three league clashes against them.
  • Oxford United have lost just one of their last 13 home games in the league (W5 D7).
  • Pompey are unbeaten in each of their last four away league games (W3 D1).


Plymouth v Bristol Rovers

  • In the last 12 league encounters between the Pilgrims and the Gas, Plymouth have scored in every single match, last failing to score against them in 1997.
  • Bristol Rovers have beaten the Green Army twice in their last three league clashes (L1).
  • Plymouth are unbeaten in their last five league games at Home Park against the Pirates (W3 D2).
  • Bristol Rovers ended a run of three consecutive away wins at this level with defeat at Leyton Orient in their last away game.


York v Carlisle

  • Last season saw the first matches between these sides in the Football League since 2004, with York beating Carlisle away but drawing at Bootham Crescent.
  • The Cumbrians failed to score in their last three league meetings against the Minstermen.
  • The Yorkshire club are unbeaten at Bootham Crescent against Carlisle in their last 11 league games (W5 D6).
  • Carlisle have only recorded one win against York City in the league in their last 14 clashes (D6 L7).
