Life beside the seaside is gr-eight for Blackpool

Blackpool have been awesome at home this season. They have won their last seven matches at Bloomfield Road and will be hoping to make it eight home successes in a row against bitter Lancashire rivals Preston.

Ian Holloway has steered the Tangerines to their best start to a season for seven years. Blackpool are one of just two teams yet to lose at home in the Championship (leaders Newcastle are the other) and in the process they have conceded just three goals.

Therefore with Blackpool's tight defence and impressive home record Preston (5/2) could struggle to get anything out of the match. The visitors are also on a poor run of form as they have just one win in their last eight matches. Consequently the selection to be on in the match betting looks to be a Blackpool win at 23/20.

The Seasiders are a big looking 8/5 to keep their sixth home clean sheet of the season. This is great value because in addition to Blackpool's mean defence, Preston have not scored a goal in their last two matches.

Preston are without key defender Youl Mawene who was injured last Monday against Newcastle. They will miss the Frenchman although Liam Chilvers is an able replacement, however, he and his fellow defenders will probably struggle to withstand the multitude of Blackpool attacks. Therefore in the correct score betting market I like the look of a 2-0 Blackpool victory at odds of 15/2.

Ian Holloway's side tend to share the goals throughout the team with their highly touted midfielder Charlie Adam joint top scorer (with striker Ben Burgess) with six goals in all competitions.

After this duo in the scoring charts Blackpool have four players - Alex Baptiste, Jason Euell, Brett Ormerod and Gary Taylor-Fletcher - on three goals. Out of these six players the preference in the scoring markets would be for Ormerod at 7/4 to score.

A bet at a bigger price could be worthwhile on Algerian winger Hameur Bouazza. He has just returned from international duty and can be backed at 10/1 to open the scoring or 7/2 to notch at anytime.

Despite the above Preston boss Alan Irvine will be confident of his side's chances as Blackpool have drawn three and lost one of their last four home league games against Preston.

Nevertheless I believe that Blackpool will improve their recent record against their rivals and win yet another match at home and move up to fourth in the Championship table in the process.
