Liverpool look to nail the Hammers

Liverpool can climb above Chelsea to the top of the Premier League with a win over struggling West Ham United.

Rafa Benitez's side will go three points clear of their west London rivals with a win at Anfield on Monday night, and their odds of 1/3 suggest they will do so comfortably.

If West Ham, managed by ex-Chelsea favourite Gianfranco Zola, hold on for a draw - 7/2 in the betting - they would leapfrog both Manchester City and Stoke City into 13th place, while the point would also be good enough for the Reds to reclaim top-spot.

You can get 10/1 should the unthinkable happen and the Hammers return to the capital with the three points, although the way Liverpool are playing this season, that seems a rather short price.

With talismanic striker Fernando Torres still missing with a hamstring injury, captain Steven Gerrard - Liverpool's top-scorer so far this season - will be hoping to add to his tally of eight goals; he can be backed at 5/1 to grab the first of the night, which looks like a good value bet.
