Old pals face off in a crucial six-pointer at the Lane

Harry Redknapp comes face-to-face with his ex-assistant manager Tony Adams at White Hart Lane on Sunday, as Tottenham Hotspur take on Portsmouth in a must-win clash - for both men.

Spurs currently sit bottom of the Premier League following results on Saturday, but - in an indication of how tight the table actually is - the Londoners will go 12th with a victory on Sunday.

Redknapp's team are favourites for the match, and 'Appy 'Arry, who likes a flutter himself, will no doubt be smiling if the 7/10 shots win. (Although, obviously, not because he's had a bet on them.)

Pompey will also climb the table should they take the three points on offer - the south-coast club will go 11th unless they put a shed-load past the hapless Heurelho Gomes, in which case they could break into the top ten.

Adams, who took the reigns at Fratton Park when Redknapp left for the bright lights of the capital in October, has had a hard time of it. He's won only twice in 12 matches in the league, and isn't fancied to win this one either - his side are priced at 9/2. Even a draw seems unlikely, according to the odds of 12/5.

All eyes will be on one man in particular come kick-off - Jermain Defoe is back at the club he left barely a year ago, and on Sunday will be lining up against his old team-mates for the first time. He's 4/1 to score the first (or last) goal of the game, and 5/4 to find the back of the net at anytime in the 90 minutes. Players do seem to have a knack of scoring against former clubs...
