Dinamo Zagreb v Porto

Porto have qualified for their 17th Champions League campaign (since 1992/93), only Manchester Utd have done better (18).

Porto have won the European Cup/Champions League on two occasions: 1987 & 2004.

Porto have lost the joint-most games in Champions League history alongside Dynamo Kiev (45 since 1992/93).

Dinamo Zagreb and Porto previously met in the group stages of the Champions League back in 1998/99. The Croatians won 3-1 at home after having lost 3-0 in Portugal.

Dinamo Zagreb are taking part in their fourth Champions League campaign.

Zagreb conceded 22 goals in the group stages last season, a record in the history of the Champions League. Their goal difference was also the worst in the history of the Champions League group stages (-19).

Zagreb have lost eight of their last nine Champions League games, including all six games in the group stages last season.

Zagreb have only won two home games in the Champions League, one of them being against Porto in November 1998 (3-1). The other was versus Sturm Graz in September 1999.

Paris SG v Dynamo Kiev

Paris SG last played in the Champions League eight years ago, in the 2004/05 season.

PSG have won only two of their last 13 Champions League games.

However, at home PSG have won 12 of their 17 games in the Champions League.

PSG are unbeaten in their last 19 games at home in European competition, qualifiers included. Their last defeat dates back to November 2006 in the group stages of the UEFA Cup against Hapoel Tel-Aviv.

PSG have won their two Champions League encounters with Dynamo Kiev, back in the group stages of the 1994/95 campaign.

Dynamo Kiev are taking part in their 14th Champions League campaign, and their first since 2009/10.

Kiev have not made it past the group stages in any of their last 10 Champions League participations.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will become the first player to play for six different clubs in the Champions League era. He has netted 28 goals in the Champions League, only Lionel Messi (51) and Cristiano Ronaldo (38) have been more prolific among players in this season's competition.

Montpellier v Arsenal

This is the 15th consecutive season Arsenal will play in the Champions League, only Manchester Utd (17) and Real Madrid (16) can boast longer current streaks.

Arsenal have made it past the group stages in the last nine seasons but have been knocked out at the last 16 stage in the last two campaigns.

Their solitary Champions League final ended in defeat against Barcelona in 2006.

Montpellier's only encounter with an English club was in the 1991 Cup Winners Cup quarter-finals v Man Utd (3-1 agg. defeat).

Montpellier are one of three teams to make their debut in the Champions League this season, along with Malaga and Nordsjælland.

Arsenal have never lost an away game in France, winning five and drawing four.

Arsenal's last three away games in France have all ended 1-0 to the Gunners.

Arsenal have only kept one clean sheet in their last 20 Champions League away games, that was in France against Marseille last season.

Montpellier haven't won any of their last four home games in European competition, (two draws, two defeats).

Olympiakos v Schalke 04

This will be the first competitive encounter between these sides.

Olympiakos are making their 14th appearance in the Champions League, more than any other Greek side.

Schalke will be playing in the Champions League for the fifth time in their history. They reached the semi-finals in their last participation in 2010/11, their best ever performance in the competition.

Olympiakos have not conceded more than one goal in their last 13 home games in the Champions League.

Olympiakos have won their three home Champions League games against German sides, scoring 12 goals in the process and conceding three.

Olympiakos' six Champions League games against German sides have produced 22 goals, a rate of 3.7 per game.

Malaga v Zenit St Petersburg

Malaga are one of three teams to make their debut in the Champions League this season, along with Montpellier and Nordsjælland.

Zenit are taking part in their third Champions League campaign - they reached the last 16 last season but were knocked out by Benfica (3-4 agg.).

Malaga qualified for the group stages following a 2-0 aggregate win against Panathinaikos in the play-offs.

Qualifiers excluded, Malaga have lost only one of their 10 games in European competition (six wins, three draws).

Zenit have won only one of their seven away games in the Champions League, against BATE Borisov.

Zenit have lost their last three European games against Spanish opposition, in all competitions.

The St Petersburg club have lost all three away games against Spanish sides in European competition (excluding qualifiers).

AC Milan v Anderlecht

AC Milan have won only five of their last 23 Champions League games.

AC Milan have won the European Cup/Champions League on seven occasions, only Real Madrid have more to their name (nine).

AC Milan are unbeaten against Anderlecht in the Champions League (two wins, two draws).

Anderlecht have only scored one goal in their four Champions League encounters with AC Milan.

Anderlecht are making their ninth appearance in the Champions League, more than any other Belgian side. Their last participation was back in the 2006/07 campaign.

Borussia Dortmund v Ajax Amsterdam

Ajax are making their 11th appearance in the Champions League (since 1992/93). Only PSV Eindhoven have qualified for the competition more times amongst Dutch sides (13).

Borussia Dortmund are making their eight appearance in the Champions League, only Bayern Munich have more among German clubs (16).

Dortmund won the Champions League in 1997.

Dortmund and Ajax last met in the quarter finals of the 1995/96 Champions League. The Dutch side won both games (3-0 on aggregate).

Dortmund finished bottom of their Champions League group last season, winning only one of their six games in a group containing Arsenal, Marseille and Olympiakos.

Dortmund have won none of their three Champions League home games against Dutch sides.

Real Madrid v Manchester City

Real Madrid are playing in the Champions League for the 16th consecutive season, only Manchester Utd can boast a longer current run.

Real Madrid have always made it out of the Champions League group stages in each of their 17 participations.

Real Madrid last reached the final of the Champions League 10 years ago, in 2002 when they beat Bayer Leverkusen (2-1).

Real Madrid have won the European Cup/Champions League on nine occasions, a record.

Real Madrid have only failed to score once in their last 25 Champions League games, against Barcelona in the 2010/11 semi-finals.

Real Madrid have won more games than any other club in the history of the Champions League (99, since 1992/93).

Manchester City are unbeaten in their last 25 home games in European competition (qualifiers excluded).

Shakhtar Donetsk v Nordsjælland

Nordsjælland are one of three teams to make their debut in the Champions League this season, along with Malaga and Montpellier.

They are the fourth Danish side to play in the Champions League after Aalborg, Copenhagen and Brøndby.

Shakhtar are making their eight appearance in the Champions League, only Dynamo Kiev have made more among Ukrainian sides (14).

Shakhtar have won only one of their last eight Champions League games (five defeats, two draws).

Shakhtar's best performance in the Champions League was a quarter-final in 2010/11 - they were then knocked out by Barcelona.

Chelsea v Juventus

This is Chelsea's 10th consecutive participation in the Champions League. They've reached the semi-finals six times and the final twice, winning it for the first time in their history last season.

Chelsea have made it out of the group stages every time in each of their 10 previous Champions League participations.

Juventus are making their 13th appearance in the Champions League and their first since the 2009/10 season. Only AC Milan have made more appearances among Italian sides.

Juventus have won the European Cup/Champions League on two occasions (1985 and 1996). Only Benfica and Bayern Munich have lost as many finals as the Old Lady (5).

Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 26 Champions League group stage games at home (20 wins, six draws).

The last non-English side to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League were Inter Milan in March 2010.

Lille are taking part in their fifth Champions League campaign. Only Lyon and Marseille have made more appearances among French sides.

Bayern Munich v Valencia

Bayern Munich have reached the Champions League final twice in the last three seasons, losing to Inter Milan in 2010 and Chelsea last season.

Their last win the Champions League was in 2001 when they beat Valencia on penalties.

Barcelona v Spartak Moscow

Barcelona have won three of the last seven Champions League titles (2006, 2009, 2011).

Barcelona have reached the semi-finals of the Champions League in each of the last five seasons.

Barcelona have won the last two Champions League/European Cup finals played at Wembley, in 1992 and 2011. The final will be played there in 2013.

Spartak Moscow are making their 11th appearance in the Champions League, more than any other Russian club.

Celtic v Benfica

Celtic are making their 7th appearance in the Champions League, their first since 2008/09.

Celtic's best Champions League performance is a last 16 in 2006/07 and 2007/08.

Manchester Utd v Galatasaray

Manchester Utd are playing in the Champions League for the 17th consecutive season, the longest current run.

They have won the Champions League twice under Sir Alex Ferguson, in 1999 and 2008.

Last season, Manchester Utd failed to make it past the group stages for the first time since 2005/06.

Manchester Utd have lost only two of their last 56 Champions League games at home.

Manchester Utd have scored in each of their last 12 Champions League games.

Galatasaray have never beaten Manchester Utd in the Champions League (three draws, one defeat). They last met in the 1994/95 edition.

The Istanbul side has actually never won in England, losing four games and drawing the other three.

The two Champions League encounters between Manchester Utd and Galatasaray at Old Trafford have produced 10 goals.

Braga are playing in the Champions League for the second time in their history, after their appearance in 2010/11.

None of Braga's six Champions League games have ended in a draw (three wins, three defeats).
