Southampton v Crystal Palace

  • Southampton have played Crystal Palace five times in the FA Cup progressing twice to Palace's three times.
  • The last FA Cup meeting between the two sides came in the 1976 semi-final which Saints won en route to winning the FA Cup trophy that season.
  • Saints have won the last five straight meetings against the Eagles in all competitions.
  • Southampton have lost 16 of their last 23 FA Cup matches against top flight opposition (W3 D4 L16).
  • 10 of Crystal Palace's last 17 FA Cup draws against top flight opponents have gone to a replay.
  • Palace have only won five of their last 28 matches in the FA Cup against top flight opposition (W5 D11 L12).

 

Cambridge United v Manchester United

  • Wayne Rooney has scored six goals in his last six FA Cup matches.
  • Manchester United have lost just one of their last 40 FA Cup matches against lower league opponents (W33 D6 L1).
  • Man Utd and Cambridge have only ever met once before in any competition and that was the 1991-92 League Cup where the Red Devils won 4-1 on aggregate over two legs.
  • The 1991-92 season was also the last time Cambridge knocked a top flight team out of the FA Cup when they beat Coventry City after a replay.
  • Cambridge last reached the fifth round of the FA Cup in 1999-2000.
  • Man United have won all seven of their previous FA Cup ties against teams in the fourth tier, scoring 21 goals in the process.

 

Blackburn Rovers v Swansea City

  • Swansea have won five of their last six FA Cup ties against lower league opposition, losing only to Leyton Orient in 2010-11.
  • The Swans have gone nine FA Cup matches without a clean sheet.
  • Blackburn and Swansea have met three times in the FA Cup with the Welsh side winning on two occasions. The last time they met was in 1955 when Swansea were Town and not City
  • These two sides have only met twice in the last 30 years, in the Premier League double header in 2011-12 where both sides won their respective home games.
  • Blackburn have lost just two of their last 19 FA Cup home games (W13 D4 L2).
  • This is the sixth time in the last seven draws the Swans have come out of the hat away from home and the one home draw they did get saw them have to play away in a replay. They have won three of their last four FA Cup ties on the road.

 

Chelsea v Bradford City

  • Chelsea have only lost two of their last 34 FA Cup matches (W26 D6 L2), though one of the draws saw them eliminated on penalties by Everton.
  • Oscar has four goals and two assists in nine FA Cup starts for Chelsea.
  • Chelsea have won 23 and lost none of their last 27 FA Cup matches at Stamford Bridge in normal play. The only blot on their record was a penalty shootout defeat to Everton in that run.
  • Chelsea and Bradford have met only once in the FA Cup, back in 1912 when the Bantams won 2-0.
  • Bradford have lost their last 12 visits to Stamford Bridge to play Chelsea, with their last win there being October 1912.

 

Derby County v Chesterfield

  • This is the seventh straight home draw for Derby; the Rams have won three and lost three of the previous six.
  • Derby and Chesterfield have been drawn together twice before in the FA Cup with the Rams going through on both occasions, once after a replay.
  • Chesterfield have never won away at Deby in eight visits in all competitions (L4 D4).
  • This is the first time Chesterfield have progressed beyond the 3rd round since 1997, when they reached the semi-finals.
  • Sam Clucas has scored nine goals in his last nine FA Cup appearances.

 

Preston North End v Sheffield United

  • Chris Porter has scored three goals in his last five FA Cup games.
  • Sheffield United have won 12 and lost just two of their last 16 FA Cup matches.
  • Jermaine Beckford has scored eight goals in his last eight FA Cup appearances.
  • Joe Garner has scored six goals in his last seven FA Cup matches.
  • This is the fourth time Preston have been drawn against Sheffield United in the FA Cup with the Blades progressing twice after a replay and North End going through once.
  • Sheffield United have won two and lost none of their last four visits to Deepdale.

 

Birmingham City v West Bromwich Albion

  • Birmingham and West Brom have met seven times in the FA Cup with the Baggies going through six times (W6 D1 L1).
  • Nine of the last 10 goals scored in the last three meetings between the Blues and the Baggies have been netted in the second half.
  • Birmingham have won just one of their last six home FA Cup matches (W1 D1 L4).
  • The Blues have won just one of their last 14 home FA Cup matches against top flight opposition (W1 D5 L8).
  • West Brom have won only three of their last 17 FA Cup matches against teams from the top two tiers of English football (W3 D7 L7).

 

Aston Villa v AFC Bournemouth

  • The Cherries have kept just one clean sheet in their last 14 FA Cup matches.
  • Yann Kermorgant has five goals and three assists in his last three FA Cup appearances.
  • These two teams have never met in the FA Cup. Villa have won two and lost one of the four league meetings, the last of which was in 1988.
  • Aston Villa have won seven of their last eight home FA Cup matches.
  • Bournemouth have only ever won three of their 31 FA Cup matches against top-flight sides (W3 D7 L21).

 

Cardiff City v Reading

  • Cardiff have kept just one clean sheet in their last 10 FA Cup matches.
  • Cardiff have lost just one of the last 12 meetings with Reading in all competitions (W1 D6 L5).
  • Cardiff and Reading have been drawn together four times previously in the FA Cup with both sides progressing twice.
  • The last time the two sides met in the FA Cup was 2009 where City won 2-0 in Round 3.
  • City have won 18 and lost just three of their last 28 home FA Cup matches.

 

Liverpool v Bolton Wanderers

  • Daniel Sturridge has scored nine goals in his last 11 FA Cup starts.
  • Steven Gerrard has scored three goals in his last two FA cup matches.
  • Liverpool and Bolton have been drawn together eight times in the FA Cup with the Trotters progressing on six occasions.
  • Liverpool have failed to score in three of their four home FA Cup games against Bolton.
  • The Reds have kept just two clean sheets in their last 17 FA Cup matches.
  • Liverpool had won 10 games in a row against Bolton before the Trotters won the last meeting in January 2012.

 

Tottenham Hotspur v Leicester City

  • Leonardo Ulloa has scored in each of his four FA Cup appearances.
  • Leicester have only failed to score in one of their last 15 FA Cup matches.
  • Spurs and Leicester have met nine times in the FA Cup with Tottenham winning on seven occasions, Leicester progressing twice .
  • The first ever meeting between these two sides was a 5-5 draw in the FA Cup in 1914 (when Leicester City were Leicester Fosse).
  • There have been 40 goals scored in the last 10 meetings between Spurs and Leicester, including five in the last FA Cup meeting in 2006 which the Foxes won 3-2.

 

Brighton & Hove Albion v Arsenal

  • Only George Ramsay (6 with Aston Villa) has won the FA Cup as a manager more times than Arsene Wenger.
  • The Gunners have won 11 FA Cup finals, only Manchester United  have won as many.
  • Olivier Giroud has scored five goals in his last seven FA Cup games.
  • Arsenal have conceded exactly two goals in five of their last six FA Cup matches away from home (including games at Wembley).
  • Arsenal have drawn Brighton four times in the FA Cup winning all four matches.
  • Brighton have only lost one of the last 12 FA Cup home matches, but that was 2-3 versus Arsenal in January 2013.

 

Rochdale v Stoke City

  • Jonathan Walters has scored nine goals in his last 14 starts in the FA Cup.
  • Rochdale and Stoke have met nine times but this is their first FA Cup clash. In the previous nine games, Stoke have won five and Rochdale two, though one draw (League Cup 2007-08) was won on penalties by Dale.
  • This is only the fifth time Rochdale have ever made it to the FA Cup 4th Round and they have only progressed to the 5th Round twice (1990 and 2003).
  • Rochdale have won just one of their 13 FA Cup matches against top flight opposition (W1 D2 L10).
  • The Potters have won four and lost none of their last five away FA Cup games against lower division teams.

 

Bristol City v West Ham

  • Bristol City have only won four of the 30 meetings in all competitions with West Ham (W4 D10 L16).
  • The Hammers won the only meeting in the FA Cup in 1969 by a 3-2 scoreline.
  • City's last home win over West Ham came in the 1977-78 season when they won both home and away league fixtures. Since then the Hammers have won five and drawn five of the 10 matches.
  • Jay Emmanuel Thomas has scored seven goals in his last eight FA Cup appearances.
  • Matt Smith has scored nine goals in his last seven appearances for the Robins.

 

Sunderland v Fulham

  • Sunderland have won their last three FA Cup matches at the Stadium of Light and all by a 1-0 scoreline.
  • The Black Cats have lost just one of their last eight FA Cup matches against lower league opposition (W5 D2 L1).
  • Fulham are unbeaten in five away at the Stadium of Light in all competitions (W2 D3).
  • Four of the Cottagers' last five FA Cup ties have gone to replays, progressing in three of those.
  • Fulham have won just once in seven FA Cup games away from home.
  • Adam Johnson's only career hat-trick came against Fulham last January in the Premier League.

 

Manchester City v Middlesbrough

  • Sergio Aguero has scored eight goals in eight FA Cup appearances.
  • Manchester City and Middlesbrough have been drawn together five times in the FA Cup with Boro progressing three times and City twice, (overall seven matches with two draws).
  • Middlesbrough are unbeaten in three FA Cup matches away against Man City.
  • Only one team has stopped Manchester City from scoring in their last 25 FA Cup matches (Wigan in the 2013 final).
  • Middlesbrough have won just one of their last 11 FA Cup matches against top flight opponents (W1 D3 L7).
  • Samir Nasri has scored three goals in his last five FA Cup appearances.
