Punters Keane to back Roy to lose his job
William Hill have slashed Roy Keane from 1/2 to 1/7 to lose his job before the end of the season - following his side's 4-1 loss to Norwich in the East Anglian Derby on Sunday.
The bookmakers also make the former Ireland and Manchester United captain a 7/2 shot to lose his job before next Sunday.
Keane was already under pressure from the local fans and media following a string of poor results and the derby defeat against their bitter East Anglian rivals will only double the calls for the Corkman to leave his post.
‘Punters seem to believe Keane is a goner,' said William Hill spokesman Tony Kenny ‘The only question is when will he go? Ipswich play in the Carling Cup on Wednesday and then against the high flying Swansea on Saturday - and two defeats would probably spell the end of Keane's career at Portman road.'
