RVP to fire Moyes men to victory in Swansea - Betting Preview

Swansea v Man Utd 17:30 - live on Sky Sports 1

Swansea @3/1 Draw @12/5 Man Utd@ 21/20

The reigning champions start the defence of their Premier League crown (@5/2 to retain the title, behind Chelsea and Man City @ 9/4 each) with a new man at the helm.  After twenty- six years,  Sir Alex passes his management baton to David Moyes.

The ex -Everton boss has been groomed for the role and has already captured some of his predecessors idealistic and out spoken views, having made clear his feelings over the initial EPL fixture list.

Moyes, though, is not a man to be tested and he will expect the same respect afforded to Ferguson from his players.

Old Trafford welcomes the top class potential of Uruguayan Guillermo Varela to the ranks, while Paul Scholes, one of Europe's finest midfielders, has retired after a stellar career playing in the Red of Manchester and the White of England.

Up front, RVP, who topped the scoring tables in both of the last two seasons, is 7/2 to make it a hat-trick and, if injury free, will no doubt be bagging points for the Old Trafford faithful.

Swansea, winners of the League Cup last season under the watchful eye of the majestic ex- Danish International Michael Laudrup, finished a comfortable 9th in the EPL and with a sparkling Europa League qualification in the bag already, will be confident of fighting for a top six spot this year.

Currently @2500/1 for the title, the Swans are @11/8 for a Top Half finish and @10/1 to top the league without the big 6.

Summer purchase Wilfried Bony (Top season scorer @40/1) is already being mooted as the buy of the season and Laudrup's astuteness will be evident throughout the next ten months.

Their first match of the new season should be a goal feast, as both sides look for victorious starts to their campaigns and to prove a point to their rivals.

Swansea won their opening game last season 5-0 (@300/1) and another straight out the blocks performance is anticipated, with Bony (@7/1 First scorer, @2/1 Anytime scorer, @10/1 to score 2 or more goals) leading the Swans attack with the enigmatic Michu (Swansea's top hitman last year and priced @15/2 as First scorer, @9/4 Anytime scorer and @11/1 to score 2 or more goals)

Both teams scored in last season's fixture, as Michu levelled after Patrick Evra (@33/1 to repeat his First Scorer heroics) gave the Manchester outfit a lead in the 16th minute and it is not difficult to see both teams netting again @4/6.

RVP set up Evra's goal that day and scored twice in the Red Devils Community Shield victory. He is @7/2 to open the scoring, with Hernandez @6/1, Welbeck @13/2 and Rooney 13/2.

Man Utd scored 86 times last year (the highest in the league), as they took the title by eleven points, and will expect more of the same here. A 0-3, 1-3 and 2-3 away result can be backed at @18/1, 16/1 and 25/1 respectively.

An exhilarating match is expected, as both teams look to prosper from their attacking options and although Swansea will want to establish a foothold in the upper reaches of the table, the Red Devils players should display the desire that Sir Alex demanded and give the new manager the prefect start to his new employment!
