Serie A 2015/16 Opta Facts – 07-08 November


Verona - Bologna

  • Bologna and Verona have shared two wins apiece and a draw over their last five Serie A meetings.
  • Over their last nine meetings at the Bentegodi, these two sides have never repeated the same result twice in a row - they shared a goalless draw in the last one, back in March 2014.
  • Verona have failed to score in their last two league games - since start of this campaign, the Veneti have scored more than a single goal only in the game against Torino (2-2).
  • In fact, Verona have the worst attack of this competition (only four goals scored).
  • Verona are the only side yet to win a home game in this Serie A season (D3 L2).
  • Bologna have alternated between a win and a loss over their last four Serie A fixtures.
  • Last Sunday, Bologna finally managed to score more than two goals in a Serie A game for the first time since October 2013.
  • Against Atalanta, Emanuele Giaccherini scored his first Serie A goal since May 2013.
  • Bologna's last six goals have been scored by six different payers, including Mattia Destro, who ended a goal scoring drought of 834 minutes in Serie A last weekend.

AC Milan - Atalanta

  • AC Milan and Atalanta have shared only one draw over their last 18 Serie A meetings (1-1 in Bergamo in October 2009).
  • Atalanta have won two of their last three games away to AC Milan, both 1-0.
  • The last time Atalanta won back-to-back games at AC Milan's ground was in 1943.
  • The Rossoneri have won their last three league fixtures - the last time they put together four straight wins in Serie A was in April 2014.
  • AC Milan have won six of their last seven games at home between this and last season (losing against Napoli).
  • Atalanta have made the most tackles in this competition (268), and the second-most recoveries (716, only behind Lazio).

  • Torino haven't conceded goals in their last two games against Inter last season - they haven't managed a longer streak without conceding against the Nerazzurri since the Seventies (1976-1978).
  • Torino have picked up just two points over their last 11 home games against Inter, as a result of the two draws shared in the last two seasons.
  • Torino are winless in their last five league fixtures (D2 L3).

Empoli - Juventus

  • Empoli have collected only two points from their last 10 Serie A games against Juventus.
  • Overall, the Tuscans have won only twice in 18 previous meetings against the Old Lady in Serie A, both at home.
  • Empoli have failed to score in each of their last four league games against the Bianconeri.
  • Empoli have picked up 14 points from 11 match-days, four more than those in the same period last season under Sarri.
  • Empoli have won three of their last five league games, and the last two at home - the last time they managed to win three home games in a row in the top-flight was in February 2007.
  • Juventus have conceded goals with the first shot on target they faced on six occasions so far in this Serie A campaign, including Bovo's goal in the derby against Torino last weekend.
  • Juventus are yet to win two games in a row in this Serie A.
  • Riccardo Saponara has contributed to 58% of Empoli's goals, scoring four and making three assists so far this term.

Frosinone - Genoa

Roma - Lazio

  • This will be the 143rd Derby della Capitale in the Serie A: Roma lead by 49 wins to 36.
  • Roma won the last Serie A derby, back in May - the Giallorossi have not secured two consecutive wins against the Biancocelesti since March 2011.
  • Roma have won only one of the last four Serie A derbies played as the home team (D2 L1).
  • Rudi Garcia's side are unbeaten at home in the Serie A 2015/16 (W4 D1).
  • The five Roma home matches in Serie A this term have seen both teams involved finding the net.
  • Before losing against AC Milan last Sunday, Lazio had won all the eight seasonal matches played at the Olimpico (in all competitions).
  • Lazio have both made the most recoveries (739) in Serie A this term.
  • Since he joined Roma in 2011/12, the Giallorossi have won 54.4% of their league games with Miralem Pjanic playing and only 42.3% without him.

  • These two sides have met 66 times in the top-flight: Napoli leads by 22 wins to 16.
  • Four out of the last seven Serie A clashes between Napoli and Udinese have ended with a draw: two wins for the Azzurri, one for the Bianconeri in the other matches.
  • Napoli have gone unbeaten over their last four home games against Udinese in the league: three wins, one draw.
  • Napoli are unbeaten at home in Serie A 2015/16 (W4 D1), on the other hand Udinese have already got seven out of their 12 points away from home.
  • Napoli have already drawn nil-nil twice in Serie A this season: they only had once over the previous two campaigns under Rafa Benitez.
  • Napoli are unbeaten in their last 10 league games (W6 D4): the longest current streak in Serie A.
  • Antonio Di Natale has not fired a single shot on target in seven out of the 10 league games played this term.
  • Di Natale has scored eight goals in his 11 meetings with Napoli in the top-flight, including two hat-tricks (February and November 2010).
  • Udinese are one of the four current Serie A teams - alongside with Carpi, Empoli and Sassuolo - Gonzalo Higuain is yet to find the net against.


Sampdoria - Fiorentina

  • Sampdoria have won only one of their last seven Serie A clashes with Fiorentina (D4 L3).
  • However, the Blucerchiati have won three out of their last five meetings with Fiorentina on the home soil (D1 L1).
  • So far Sampdoria have kept only one clean sheet in Serie A this season.
  • Sampdoria went unbeaten over their last seven home matches in the league (W4 D3).
  • Fiorentina have not shared the points in their last 21 Serie A games (W14 D7).
  • Fiorentina already have 10 goalscorers so far: only Roma (12) have more in the top-flight this term.
