Serie A Weekend Preview by Mark Young
Italian Serie A Preview 19/11-20/11 by Mark Young (Twitter: @markyoung1988)
Serie A is back this weekend and one of the tightest leagues in Europe is full of value this weekend with goals assured despite Serie A's critics saying it's boring.
Saturday night sees three tight encounters with the game of the night being staged in Florence. Milan travel to play Fiorentina in a game where they will want to continue their recent impressive form. Milan's main man is Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He only played 45 minutes against England at Wembley on Tuesday and will be firing again on Saturday, as his domestic record is outstanding. He is 9/2 to score first and 6/5 anytime. Both are good bets. Stevan Jovetic has been in good form so far this season after missing the majority of last season with injury. He is 2/1 to score anytime against the champions. It should prove to be a tight contest and Allegri's Milan to win 2-1 at 8/1 looks a good bet.
Another equally impressive looking game on paper is Napoli against Lazio. Lazio go to Naples without Miroslav Klose and he may prove to be a big miss. Napoli are priced at 11/10 and although they may have one eye on the Champions League in midweek that price has to be big on value. It must be snapped up. Hamsik, Lavezzi and Cavani have played well this season without finding the form of last year. Cavani is 4/1 to score first and will hope to kick start his season with a goal against the impressive Lazio. A Half Time Draw, Full Time Napoli bet at 15/4 is another bet that looks like huge value.
The season's underachievers so far also play on Saturday evening. They host Cagliari and are a very short 8/15 to pick up three points. They may well pick up the points but for a team that is as inconsistent as they are at the moment it is very difficult to tip them. Maybe the double chance of Cagliari or the Draw at 11/8 would be worth taking up but apart from that it is another week to leave Inter alone.
Everyone else plays on Sunday. The early kick off is Bologna versus Cesena and it may be a classic Italian draw at 11//5 as both teams are likely to cancel each other out. Another stand out draw should be Siena at home to Atalanta at 21/10.
An Accumulator for Sunday should be Genoa at ½ to beat Novara, Catania to defeat Chievo at 19/20 and Roma at 4/11. They are short odds but as a treble you will get at least a good run for your money. Roma should make light work of Lecce so if the 4/11 for a 90-minute win doesn't appeal then the Roma/Roma double result at 17/20 might or -2 on the handicap at 13/5.
Juventus host Palermo in the biggest of the 2pm kick offs on Sunday with The Old Lady priced at 4/9. They will have plenty of admirers this weekend and rightly so. The Juventus double result at Evens looks good as does Alessaandro Matri to bag two or more goals at 4/1. He has been the form striker of all Conte's front men this season. So get on him.
