Star-less England to lack sparkle
Fabio Capello is lacking the vast majority of his stars for the friendly against arch rivals Germany on Wednesday.
Seven of the 14 players who featured last time out in Minsk against Belarus are not in the squad.
On top of this, usual first choice players Ashley Cole and Joe Cole were both missing from the team that beat Belarus and are still absent.
Therefore England are without most of their first choice line-up. In their absence Capello has promoted Michael Mancienne, Micah Richards and Gabriel Agbonlahor from the under 21's squad.
Capello has also handed call ups to Darren Bent, Jimmy Bullard, Curtis Davies and Scott Parker.
With the players at his disposal it would be very unlikely that Capello's England can beat rivals Germany.
Germany, who are without some first choice players themselves most notably captain Michael Ballack and Philipp Lahm, are priced as 6/5 favourites. The draw is available at 21/10 and an English victory is 5/2.
Of course the last time England played away in Germany the Three Lions majestically won 5-1 in Sven Goran Eriksson's greatest hour as English boss.
Another scoreline of 5-1 to England can be backed at 100/1. However, a much lower scoring game is likely this time around. The total goals market looks like to be the one to be on.
Less than two goals can be backed at an extremely generous 15/8 which is a must to back.
