Stoke can upset Man United's momentum
United head to Stoke in cracking form, they still have a one hundred percent record in the league and they cannot stop scoring goals. They have amassed an incredible twenty-one goals during this run of form in the league but they face one of the best defences in the country in Stoke.
Stoke's backline consists of Woodgate, Huth, Shawcross and Upson. They are all internationals and that is the reason Stoke have only conceded five goals in the league this season, all away from home.
Stoke are 9/2 to win at home, the draw is 3/1 and the away win is 6/10. Stoke are not a walkover and I would not be backing United at 6/10.
In their opening game of the season, Stoke played Chelsea at home. Pulis' team 'parked the bus' in-front of the goalmouth and Chelsea only left the Britannia Stadium with a point. They were unable to break down an experienced and resolute defence.
The Potters are 9/2 to keep a clean sheet and Rooney will be given a tough time by the backline. The fans of Stoke have accepted that their club does not play pretty football but they are fantastic at bullying other clubs into submission.
A factor in Man United's favour is that Stoke had may have qualified for the next round of the Carling Cup in midweek but they played most their first team and they had to play one-hundred and twenty minutes of football. They may struggle to maintain their levels of fitness for ninety minutes.
Man Utd are 10/1 to remain unbeaten this season. Stoke are 10/3 draw no bet for the clash and their biggest problem lies with their inability to score goals. However Stoke as mentioned earlier, held Chelsea to a draw on the opening day and they have beaten Liverpool.
Crouch and Jerome are a new partnership and there is no reason why they cannot flourish. The tall man is 9/1 to score the first goal and he has proved he can play with the best. He has valuable Champions League experience and he will be a valuable addition to Stoke this campaign.
Man Utd have already put five past Bolton and eight past Arsenal this season and four or more Man United goals is 11/2. However, I think it will be a low scoring affair with Stoke playing counter attack football with plenty of men behind the ball.
It is even money for under 2.5 goals and Stoke have kept three clean sheets in their last five games. They are also a far stronger side at home than away and they will not be intimidated by the champions.
Rooney helped United into a 3-goal lead against Chelsea before proceeding to slip over as he took a penalty. We have enhanced the price of a penalty being awarded to either team in the match and missed from 16/1 for the Match Winner!
If you fancy Man United, the best value could be for Man Utd to score in both halves at 11/8. The amount of goals they have scored this season is unbelievable and there is no reason why the run should stop.
