The FA Cup's Biggest Winner sees £5 become £16,500!
The phenomenal FA Cup upsets from Sunday (as well as the Celtic defeat to St Mirren) are still fresh in the memory and William Hill have managed to track down just one lucky punter who managed to predict all four results to scoop himself a fortune.
An anonymous 26 year old punter from Peterhead correctly predicted a draw in the Brentford/Chelsea game at 4/1, a Leeds victory at the same price, a St Mirren victory against Celtic at 10/1 and an Oldham victory against Liverpool at 11/1. This all amounted to turning the Aberdeen fan's £5 stake into a whopping £16,500 (equivalent of around 3300/1).
The lucky punter said "It is the first time that I have ever won anything like this amount of cash on a bet before. I am planning to get married next year and so the majority of my winnings will be going towards that, but I may get down to see the Dons a few more times this season."
"When Sunday's results came in, we scoured the systems to find a winner and at around 20 past midnight, this one came to our attention," said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. "It seems that this guy is the only person who backed these four outcomes in the whole country or even beyond."
