Tigers hoping for home comforts
Hull City fans were dreaming of a Champions League place after their last meeting with Tottenham Hotspur, when Geovanni's brilliant free-kick gave the Tigers their third away win of an unbelievable start to life in the Premier League.
Since those heady days though victory has only been achieved three more times and the gloom has set in over The KC Stadium, as they find themselves looking over their shoulder at the dreaded drop zone.
As for Spurs their form isn't much to write home about either - they've suffered seven consecutive away defeats in all competitions and have only been victorious once since the start of December in the Premier League.
Phil Brown's Hull, desperate for a home win, are an 11/5 shot to dent Spurs' hopes of staying up. Neither manager will really want a draw but that's also priced at 11/5 - it looks to be the most likely outcome given the lack of wins achieved by either team. The visitors' price of 13/10 is far too short given their current travel sickness.
If you're looking for a goal scorer bet, then a bit of value might be found with some of Hull's more defensive players - Bernard Mendy has scored twice in nine starts and is 20/1 for first goal while Michael Turner has scored three times this season and he's available at 25/1 to open the scoring. The same prices apply for the two defenders to score the last of the 90 minutes.
After bringing Robbie Keane back to the club, Harry Redknapp will be hoping he can re-open his goal scoring account and the forward is priced at 11/2 to do so with the first at the KC; while Darren Bent has come off the bench to score four times already this season and 6/1 for the last goal could be a good earner.
