Tottenham's woes to continue?
The UEFA Cup could be a welcome distraction for Tottenham from their disastrous start to the Premier League. However, tonight's first group match away to Udinese looks like a very difficult proposition for a team out of sorts, form and ideas in recent weeks. Udinese are currently second in Serie A and have won three and drawn one of their four home games so far in Serie A. Despite this impressive start in Serie A Udinese needed penalties to get past Borussia Dortmund in the first round of the UEFA Cup. However no-one can seriously contemplate backing Tottenham at the moment so the offer of evens on Udinese looks good.
The other English sides playing tonight also have tricky looking matches. Martin O'Neill's Villa host Ajax and Pompey travel to Portugal to take on Braga. Ajax are struggling in the notoriously weak Dutch league and Aston Villa must be backed, especially on home soil. Portsmouth made hard work of Portuguese opposition in the first round in the form of Guimaraes and it certainly won't be plain sailing for the south coast outfit again.
Villa can be backed at 5/6 and Braga 9/5, when these two are added with Udinese in a treble you get odds of over 9/1.
