War-knocking on the Premier League door
The promised land beckons for Neil Warnock's warriors as high-flying QPR have maintained top spot since day one of the 2010/11 season.
Neil Warnock and Paddy Kenny come up against their former side with the intention of completing a league double over Sheffield. A 3-0 win at Bramall Lane in the second game of the season helped spark QPR's good run.
We are offering an enhanced price for Paddy Kenny to save a penalty against his former side at 25/1 as part of our regular Match Winner special.
Relegation threatened Sheffield United travel to Loftus Road and are big outsiders at 6/1 to upset the current league leaders. The home side are short price favourites at 1/2 with the draw at 3/1. Sheffield have failed to win on the road in their last six games, their best result being a draw.
Micky Adams has already beaten QPR this season, managing Port Vale, he knocked the Londoners out of the League Cup in what was an abysmal match at Loftus Road.
The Hoops are currently the number one home team in the league, having only been beaten once on the hallowed turf of Loftus Road. Although Rangers have been grinding out results of late rather than steam-rolling sides like they did at the beginning they might be a good bet with a one goal handicap at 11/8.
However The Blades will be coming into this game with some confidence after a shock win at home to Leeds United. Bjorn Helge Riise scored the second goal for the home team and he is 6/1 to bag a goal at anytime during the 90 minutes.
Richard Cresswell has a habit of scoring against QPR, the striker has netted four times against the Hoops and he is 7/2 to bag himself a goal anytime during the match.
Mercurial Moroccan Adel Taarabt has been one of the main reasons for QPR's top of the table form, the midfielder missed out the last game against Scunthorpe but is back for Monday's clash and is 4/1 to bag the first goal of the match.
Paddy Kenny will make his 450th league appearance on Monday night, the Irish international has kept 21 clean sheets this season and is 8/13 to keep his 22nd clean sheet of the current campaign.
The visitors have conceded the opening goal in 24 of their games this season whereas once QPR get the opening goal they rarely lose or draw a game from the winning position. A double result of QPR/QPR is just odds against at 23/20.
Although QPR haven't been hitting the scores that they produced at the start of the season there is a buzz around with the club with a place in the Premier League within touching distance and each and every player will be looking to prove their worth so for a price of 7/1 you could back QPR to score four or more goals.
I expect QPR to keep their foot firmly on the gas and make sure that they keep their promotion hopes firmly in their own hands. The double result of QPR/QPR at 23/20 is the where my money would go.
