What's got 20 legs, costs £10 and is worth over £17,000?
Knock, knock... I say, I say, I say... but hold on, this isn't a joke. One William Hill client had a fantastic win the other weekend, pocketing £17,425.67 for just a £10 stake.
The customer from Humberside placed a 20 team accumulator late on Saturday, 29 August, for Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday's football matches.
Every team selected was favourite to win the match and, with the exception of Celtic to win away at Hibernian, they were all home bankers.
All but two of the teams picked were odds-on shots including some of the most famous names in football. In addition to Celtic there was Barcelona at 1/6, Benfica, Panathinaikos and Rosenborg at 1/5, Dynamo Kiev at 11/50, River Plate at 9/20 and Shakhtar Donetsk at 1/10. The Ukrainians weren't the shortest price in there either as there was 1/12 about CSKA Sofia for their 4-0 drubbing of Lok Mezdra - a short price that added some £1,300 to the accumulated winnings.
He also spotted the Spanish value that was available on Athletic Bilbao's 5/4 to beat Espanyol and 13/10 that Valencia would beat Sevilla.
The 3/4 on Everton to beat Wigan, who were clearly lucky to have beaten Villa on opening day, turned out to be hard earned value as it took a 94th minute penalty from Leighton Baines to stop the bet going down in the second leg.
But stay up it did and the bet with odds of 1741/1 came in a winner, just for guessing the outcome of a few football matches.
