Is Tiger once again the man to beat?
Tiger's return from the golfing wilderness looks complete and William Hill rate him as their 7/1 hot favourite to win the US Open that starts on Thursday. Next in the betting comes the European triumvirate of Westwood (11/1), Donald (12/1) & Mcllroy (14/1). Hills offer 13/8 that the US Open is won by a European Golfer, 10/11 a US golfer and 7/2 a player for the rest of the world. Youngster, Andy Zhang is 400/1 to win the tournament and 6/1 to make the cut.
"Tiger is certainly returning to something like his best but the Olympic course is very tight and our customers are backing Westwood & Donald over Woods," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
It has been some time since a former winner won a major and Hills offer 11/8 a previous winner of any major lifts the trophy on Sunday but 8/15 it is a maiden major victory.
