Most open US Open in history!
Bookies William Hill believe that the 2011 US Open will prove to be the most open golf tournament of the year with every player in the field attracting multiple bets.
The big three - Westwood, Poulter & Donald are, as usual, the best backed contenders but Hills have had at least one three figure bet staked on every one of the top 50 players in the betting.
"None of the big contenders played particularly well last week and although the season has produced a number of consistent players it has not produced a dominant player. With no form player, punters are lumping on their favourites. Turnover is currently almost five percent up on last year and Hills predict that the absence of Tiger could result in a ten percent increase in pre-match wagers," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
