The 94th US PGA Championship Preview
2012 has provided a stable of stellar golfers to contest its various tournaments, and this week's US PGA Championship, the final major of the year, is no different.
With the Ryder Cup fast approaching, the Europeans are without a win in a major in 2012, and for Jose Maria Olazabal, he will be looking for those currently out of the qualification to forge some momentum before he announces his line-up, including two wildcards, at the end of the month.
From the British perspective, William Hill are offering 8/1 on Justin Rose, Lee Westwood, or Luke Donald to take the Wanamaker Trophy, whilst you can back any British player to win at 5/1.
In terms of major wins, not many in the field at Kiawah will be able to match those of Padraig Harrington with three win, including the 2008 USPGA. The Irishman, who has shown some great form this year including a strong showing at the US Open, is attractively priced at 10/1 to finish as the top GB & Irish golfer.
For the Americans, defending his title is Keegan Bradley. He is currently considered a lock as Davis Love III's first of four ‘captain's picks'. He leads a strong list of home-grown talent teeing off at Kiawah Island, which includes previous champions Phil Mickelson, John Daly, and of course Tiger Woods, who is looking for his 5th US PGA title, and is 10/1 with Hills to do so.
After rising to prominence last year, Jason Dufner represents very attractive each way value at 28/1. He finished tied for the lead in last year's USPGA, only losing out to Bradley in a playoff, and as only one of three players to win multiple times on the PGA Tour in 2012, Dufner is currently ranked 8th in the World.
As ever, the USPGA will be ferociously contested, and you can find our full list of Tournament Winner prices here.
