The Open: Tiger 7/2 to take part, 16s to win!

William Hill have opened a book on whether Tiger Woods will take part in the Open Championship next week and the latest odds suggest that he will be an absentee at 1/6.

Any customer who wishes to back Tiger, can do so in the knowledge that should he not take part all bets will be refunded. New kid on the block Rory Mcllroy is 6/1 to win the Open, with Westwood 10/1, Donald 14/1 and Woods 16/1.

"The Open betting has been relatively subdued, perhaps as punters wait on Tiger. Our rules are clear, should you back Tiger but he does not start your money will be refunded and bets on any other competitor will not be subject to a deduction. Mcllroy is the man as far as our punters are concerned and so far he has attracted over 55% of the field book!" said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
