Tiger is back - we're paying out on him winning The Masters
To celebrate the return of Tiger Woods, William Hill have decided to reward all those loyal fans who have backed him to win the Masters, by declaring him the winner - over a month before it starts.
Any person who has placed a single bet on Tiger Woods winning the Masters before Friday 20 February is now in the possession of a winning wager.
"This is an unprecedented goodwill golfing gesture" said Hills' spokesman Graham Sharpe.
"Paying out on Tiger will cost us a hefty five figure sum, but it is a just reward for his hordes of loyal supporters - and from our point of view, although he costs us huge amounts of money every time he wins a tournament, he also boosts the level of betting interest enormously, so we benefit from that, too."
Hills have installed Tiger at 4/1 to win his first tournament back, the World Matchplay next week, and he is 9/4 to win the Masters.
"To achieve the Grand Slam, which would cost us millions, Tiger is a 33/1 chance and we already have substantial liabilities - which we will NOT be paying out on early!" added Sharpe.
