Woods Backed For Master Glory: Mcllroy To Miss Out?
The 6/1 that William Hill were offering for Tiger Woods lasted just 90 minutes this morning and he is currently the 9/2 favourite. Phil Mickelson (12/1), Justin Rose (16/1) & Ian Poulter (40/1) are also all six figure losers for Britain's biggest bookies. But the surprise has been Rory Mcllroy, who despite being enhanced to 12/1, has been largely friendless and he is a big winner.
"It has been a bonkers day with over a million staked on the Masters. Woods is by far the worst result, followed by Mickelson, Rose and Poulter. On the other hand Mcllroy has been friendless and he is the man we will be cheering on," said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.
The Masters: 9/2 Woods, 12/1 Mickelson, 12/1 Mcllroy, 16/1 Rose, 22/1 Bradley, 25/1 Scott, 25/1 Schwartzel, 28/1 Watson, 28/1 Westwood, 28/1 Oosthuizen, 30/1 Dustin Johnson, 33/1 Luke Donald, 40/1 Garcia, 40/1 Ian Poulter, 50/1 Others
