ABOUT THE GREYHOUND DERBY
The williamhill.com Greyhound Derby is the premier competition of the dog racing world – where a record prize of £125,000 for this year is up for grabs for the winning connections, making it the highest prize for any greyhound racing competition in history.
Taylors Sky romped to victory in last year’s competitive final, and he’s back in an attempt to retain his throne in 2012 – and is the favourite to defend his title with the bookmaking sponsors.
However there are a whole host of challengers gunning to topple his crown in the premier greyhound racing competition.
Even 2010 BBC Sports Personality of the Year – horse racing jockey Tony ‘AP’ McCoy - is getting involved in the action. The 16-time Champion Jockey has his first williamhill.com Derby runner with Shelbourne Geoff.
