9/2 Danedream for Arc repeat
Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe heroine Danedream is now 9-2 second-favourite (from 16-1) with William Hill following her gutsy victory in the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes this afternoon.
Defending champion Nathaniel was denied back-to-back success in the Saturday showpiece, with the German filly recording a nose victory over John Gosden's charge in a thrilling conclusion to the open-age Ascot extravaganza.
Hills were this morning bottom Industry price about Danedream, as they were with her Arc bid, while taking on Aidan O'Brien challenger St Nicholas Abbey. In one of the most open renewals seen for decades, the front three in the betting all proved popular in the run-up - the Ballydoyle representative was a well-supported ante-post selection, with Sea Moon and Nathaniel strong on the day, however as with last year, a relatively unfancied contender stole the show.
William Hill spokeswoman Lucy Rhodes said "After going noticeably shorter about Danedream prior to her Arc victory, we believed the filly should again be afforded a great deal of respect this time around. We were keen to keep her onside and went bottom price about her chances ahead of her Ascot task"
Narrow runner-up Nathaniel has also been trimmed to 6-1 from 8-1 for the Arc.
HOT - Danedream 9-2 new second-fav from 16-1, Nathaniel 6-1 from 8-1
COLD - St Nicholas Abbey 8-1 from 6-1
