Ascot steps in - same runners, very different race
Trainers and punters alike rejoice as the Boylesports.com International Hurdle has been rescheduled for Ascot this Saturday.
After Cheltenham was washed out last week it looked like we may lose one of the most valuable races of the season but the powers that be have finally decided to agree on something and restage this excellent race.
The market principles will all still line up with Nicky Henderson holding the strongest hand with 6/4 favourite Binocular and 11/2 chance Chomba Womba.
Emma Lavelle's 7/2 shot Crack Away Jack stands his ground as does Paul Nicholls' Celestial Halo at 12/1.
Completing the line-up at 9/2 is Katchit who looks to be the most inconvenienced by the move to Ascot. Katchit loves Cheltenham and has an excellent record there.
The right-handed course at Ascot will not play to his strengths and it would appear things are looking even rosier for Binocular who has won at Ascot before and will now form the corner stone of a lot of people's multiple bets for the weekend.
The selection for the race is still Chomba Womba who won last time out at Ascot and is available at 11/2 which appeals more than the short price about the favourite.
