Bonfire enhances Classic credentials
Bonfire enhanced his Investec Derby credentials when victorious in the Dante Stakes at York on Thursday, with William Hill shortening Andrew Balding's charge to 6-1 (second favourite) from 8-1 for Epsom glory.
Hills left hot ante-post market-leader Camelot unchanged at 4-5 for the Classic, while shortening Lingfield Trial winner Main Sequence, who has been subject to consistent support since his all-weather victory, to 12-1 from 14-1.
William Hill spokeswoman Lucy Rhodes said "That was a decent performance from Bonfire, however, although we don't suspect the Camelot camp will be losing any sleep over the Dante winner, the ante-post favourite looks short enough at present"
