Emma now favourite for ladies' race
Channel 4 racing presenter Emma Spencer is now the hot favourite for tomorrows Magnolia Cup at Goodwood, having been backed from 7-2 to 2-1 favourite with bookies William Hill.
She may be super-stylish in front of the camera for her day-job, but Emma is also proven to be one of the most experienced in the field when it comes to race riding having already won a prestigious ladies race at York amongst others and the punters have latched on to her form.
Kate Miller, spokeswoman for William Hill, said: "Emma's previous race riding experience could be crucial tomorrow and if she obliges on Jungle Bay she will prove she is made-to-measure for the job, rather than just an off-the-rack rider."
Emma is up against some other very accomplished horsewomen in the ladies charity race, in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital, including polo player Clare Milford-Haven, dressage rider Laura Bechtolsheimer, three-day eventer Daisy Trayford and trainer's daughter Francesca Cumani.
Also in the field are Annette Mason, wife of Pink Floyd drummer Nick, Burberry model Edie Campbell, Radio One DJ Sara Cox, Kate Reardon, editor of Tatler, model Delfina Figueras, and Talktalk head-honcho Dido Harding.
The ladies will still have the couture look during the race, though, with Racing silks that have been especially designed by a number of top labels, including Kate Middleton's fave Issa, Amanda Wakeley, Jasmine Guinness, Pearl Lowe and Hermes.
