Silver for Zeb as Townend strikes gold

The Queen Mother Champion Chase betting was subject to a bit of a Sunday shake-up when Golden Silver took the Tied Cottage Chase at Punchestown, with William Hill halving the winner from 14-1 into 7-1 for the Festival.

Renewing rivalry with Big Zeb for the fifth time, Willie Mullins' nine-year-old had the measure of his adversary close-home to make it four-one - denying the current Champion Chaser a follow-up in the Grade 2 event in the process.

William Hill have pushed Big Zeb out from 11-4 to 4-1 following the narrow defeat, and snipped Master Minded in slightly from 9-4 to 2-1.

Tony Kenny, spokesman for William Hill, said 'A cracking ride from Paul Townend allowed Golden Silver to reel one back in on his rival Big Zeb, whom we've eased from 11-4 to 4-1 to retain his Festival title.'
