William Hill Imperial Cup £100k Cheltenham Festival Bonus
The Grade 3 William Hill Imperial Cup Handicap Hurdle is one of the biggest races in the calendar at Sandown Park and this year the race has attracted a strong field with fourteen horses declared at Sandown this Saturday, with ten of those also entered at next week's Cheltenham Festival. William Hill are offering a bonus of £100,000 to the winner of the William Hill Imperial Cup if the horse follows up with a win in ANY race at the 2014 Cheltenham Festival.
Regal Encore is strongly fancied to land the William Hill Imperial Cup and must win to gain a place in either the Vincent O'Brien County Hurdle or the Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle, for which he is entered on Friday of The Festival. The last horse to claim the bonus was Gaspara in 2007 when following up in the Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle.
Following on from the card on Saturday, Sandown Park will also host a Cheltenham Preview Panel consisting of Paul Nicholls, Nicky Henderson, AP McCoy, Andy Stewart and William Hill PR Director Kate Miller. Come and mark your card at this top class panel which is only an extra £1 on top of pre booked tickets, with all proceeds raised for the panel going to The Injured Jockeys Fund.
