Mata Keanjang springer in mile betting
Mata Keranjang has been the subject of strong support for the William Hill Spring Mile in recent days, the sponsors halving the Paul Cole's charge from 14-1 into 7-1 second-favouritism overnight - having been originally available as big as 25-1 when betting opened.
The four-year-old was sighted in decent company last year when contesting top-class races such as the French Guineas and Gran Criterium, and connections will be hopeful he will have come on from a recent gelding operation.
Lucy Rhodes, spokeswoman for William Hill, said 'The William Hill Lincoln may be the feature race on Saturday, however the moves for Mata Keranjang in the consolation race are most intriguing. We've seen a real plunge for the representative of the Paul Cole yard, themselves no strangers to victory at Town Moor, and he's now as short as 7-1 for Spring Mile success'.
