The countdown to the William Hill Winter Festival is on!
It's the must see British sporting occasion at Christmas time and tickets for the William Hill Winter Festival at Kempton Park Racecourse on Boxing Day and Thursday, 27 December are on sale now.
Racing fans, who were lucky enough to witness Kauto Star's historic fifth win in last year's William Hill King George VI Chase, won't want to miss the magical spectacle if the legendary horse takes his place in the race on Boxing Day this year, as the race could be the last time Britain's best-loved jumper appears on the track.
Top class horses such as Grands Crus - the exciting grey horse trained by David Pipe who won the williamhill.com Feltham Novices' Steeple Chase on Boxing Day last year, the Nicky Henderson trained Finian's Rainbow - winner of the 2012 Queen Mother Champion Chase and Colin Tizzard's stable star Cue Card - runner up in the Arkle Chase at The Festival in March, could all be lining up to try to become the new King of Kempton.
The scintillating sporting action on Boxing Day includes three Grade One Jump races - the William Hill King George VI Steeple Chase, the williamhill.com Christmas Hurdle and the williamhill.com Feltham Novices' Steeple Chase. On day two of the Festival the highlight of the day is the Grade Two williamhill.com Desert Orchid Steeple Chase.
The racecourse's General Manager Phil White said: "The William Hill Winter Festival at Kempton Park is part of the staple diet for thousands of racing enthusiasts at Christmas and a target for so many of the top Jump horses in the country".
"Fans of sport love Boxing Day at Kempton Park, and especially the William Hill King George VI Chase, the showpiece race made so famous by the exploits of racehorse legends Desert Orchid and Kauto Star. We are anticipating another highly competitive race and are already excited about the prospect of welcoming the top steeple chase horses to Kempton Park".
