Make some money on their expenses
X-rated Jacqui Smith odds-on to become ex-Home Secretary
Jacqui Smith is odds-on to lose her job as Home Secretary by the end of this year with William Hill who make the controversy-ridden Minister 4/6 to be relieved of her duties on or before December 31, 2009.
"She is becoming so accident prone that her extended tenure of the job must now be in severe doubt," said Hills' spokesman Graham Sharpe. Hills offer 11/10 that she will still be Home Secretary on the final day of the year.
Her latest gaffe involved her inadvertently submitting charges for pay-per-view pornographic films along with her expenses claim for broadband.
McNulty odds-on to need re-housing after election
William Hill have also made Tony McNulty odds-on to lose his seat at the next General Election, following the controversy over his housing expenses claim.
Hills now make the Conservatives 1/2 favourites to win his Harrow East constituency at the next General Election and quote McNulty at 13/8 to retain the seat, with the Lib Dems at 16/1.
Hills are also offering 5/1 that McNulty will be ordered to pay back any of his housing expenses - longer odds than the 4/1 they are offering about Sir Fred Goodwin doing likewise with his pension pot.
"The row over Mr McNulty's housing expenses claim is unlikely to have improved his standing in his local constituency and we believe he will find it difficult to win the seat next time," added Graham Sharpe.
Meanwhile, William Hill haved shortened their odds that the next General Election will be in 2010, and quote that year at 1/7, with 2009 a 4/1 chance.
Hills make the Conservatives 2/5 favourites to win a clear majority at the next Election, with Labour 8/1 to do likewise. They also offer 5/2 that neither Party will win a clear majority.
