Sir 'Fred the Shred' 6/4 to be stripped of knighthood
Bookmakers William Hill offer odds of 6/4 that Sir Fred 'The Shred' Goodwin will have his knighthood removed this year.
Sir Fred Goodwin was in charge of the Royal Bank of Scotland as it headed for collapse before being rescued by tax payers money which has made him probably the most reviled public figure of the financial crisis.
Now it appears that David Cameron is "sympathetic" to calls that he lose the honours that were bestowed on him for "services to banking".
"Sir Fred's knighthood looks to be under threat, with the PM reportedly supporting its removal," said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
