The Fuzz: Fri May 14th

Smugs, jugs and mugs...

Hello and welcome to this brave new world of coalition blogs, which means I've 'borrowed' loads of other people's work and will be passing it off as my own (I am joking of course). The Fuzz is my weekly betting based blog and it's all mine mwah,ha,ha,haaaaa.

First of all well done to Smug and Smugger for sorting out a government in the end, I sensed anarchy was around the corner if the Tweedles hadn't come to some sort of agreement.

As a final parting shot on the politics have a look at this brilliant website taking the mickey out of our new leader: http://www.mydavidcameron.com/

Anyway enough of that for five years (all being well). Let's get back to sport and a weekend of football finals and semi-finals.

The Scottish and English FA Cup finals are both David and Goliath affairs, but one is David Beckham and the other David Brent. Ross County have knocked out Celtic and Hibs on their way to their showpiece versus third place SPL team Dundee United.

They proved the big pitch wasn't too much for them when they tore Celtic a new bum in the semi, now our betting expert north of the border Jim Crawley fancies them again. They're 11/4 to lift the trophy and you can listen to his reasons on his podcast.

The big boys square up at Wembley on Saturday in the most one-sided final since the line segment faced the mobius strip (come on, when was the last time you read a geometry based gag?) Chelsea have beaten Pompey 14 times and drawn once in the Premier League era, scoring thirty six goals to Portsmouth's three, yes that's three goals in fifteen matches. The Champions have netted seven times against them this season and 'Fat' Frank's notched six times in his last six v the South Coast Championship side.

The only chink of light at the end of the Fratton Park faithful's tunnel is the fact they have won their last four games at Wembley without conceding a goal. Big Ron, Robbie Savage and Derek McGovern discuss the match and put forward a few decent bets in The Punt.

We've got a cracking Saturday night of boxing this weekend, with Amir Khan, Kevin Mitchell and Danny Williams all fighting. My fave broadcaster Steve 'Buncey' Bunce ranted and raved for half an hour on William Hill's boxing podcast this week - it's well worth a listen if I do say so myself.

ITV are showing Khan v Malignaggi in the early hours of Sunday morning, while Sky viewers get to see Mitchell v Katsidis live from Upton Park from around 8pm. You've got to ask yourself why didn't ITV pay the cash and get the early fight. There's also the Olympians from 2008 and the British heavyweight title fight between Danny Williams and Derek Chisora on the undercard.

They would have got great viewing figures with nothing else vying for the sports fans' attention. Instead we understand they got the Golden Boy Khan promotion for free, live and direct from Madison Square Garden at 3am (if we're lucky). I will stay up and then carry the bags round under my eyes all day Sunday whilst balancing a never ending game of Snakes and Ladders and visiting DIY stores looking at kitchen tiles, but once again boxing is denied to the masses. Rubbish.

I'm having a treble on three Brits winning on Saturday night / Sunday morning. Leg 1 is Mitchell to win, Khan to win on points and Chisora to stop Williams (1/2, 11/10, 1/2). It pays 5/1 and has every chance plus gives you an interest through the night (providing the first one goes in!)

Tonight after I've finished this I'm doing a trial run for William Hill's all new radio station. It's basically a live betting commentary on the night's big events. We launch next week so I'll put the links and all that in next week's blog. Stay tuned as it were!

Dinky's back with a bet of the weekend. It's David Ferrer to win the Madrid Masters at 11/1 (he backed it at 33s).

Three final questions: do you like pizza? Do you like someone else making pizza for you? Do you like getting free pizza made by someone else? If you answered yes to all three get your laughing gear around this: Pizza Express 2 for 1

Bet well and good luck.
