Will Huckabee and Trump absence boost Palin hopes?
WILLIAM HILL now make Sarah Palin and Mitt Romney 11/4 joint favourites to win the Republican candidacy to run for the 2012 US Presidential Election following the withdrawals from the race of high profile contenders Donald Trump and Mike Huckabee. But Hills still believe the Election is Barack Obama's to lose and currently quote him as red hot favourite to come out on top again at odds of 2/5 with Palin and Romney both 9/1 joint second favourites to win the White House race.
'As yet the picture about who will end up facing off against Obama is somewhat confused but the recent defections can only improve the chances of Palin, Romney and Tim Pawlenty' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
To be Republican candidate...11/4 Sarah Palin; Mitt Romney; 4/1 Tim Pawlenty; 7/1 Mitch Daniels; 10 John Thune; John Boehner. Others on request.
To win 2012 US Presidential race....2/5 Obama; 9/1 Palin; Romney; 12 Daniels; 16 Pawlenty; 25 Boehner; Hillary Clinton; Newt Gingrich; Thune; 33/1 Joe Biden; Haley Barbour.
