Grands Crus cemented himself as a potent challenger to the Big Buck's mantle after a devastating performance in the Cleeve Hurdle on Saturday, with William Hill slashing his World Hurdle odds to 5-2 second-favourite from 9-1.
Remaining unbeaten this season, David Pipe's six-year-old made short shift of his opposition to take second-favourite's spot behind the reigning Champion, whom William Hill eased to 4-5 from 8-13.
Lucy Rhodes, spokeswoman for William Hill, said, 'The Big Buck's blanket which shrouds the staying division appeared penetrable on Saturday when Grands Crus sliced his World Hurdle quote in one striking swoop. The long-distance domination may not be quite as straightforward as it originally appeared - race on'.
