OPTA Facts Bundesliga Matchday 13 November 29th - 31st
Stuttgart have won five of their last six BL meetings with Freiburg. The last three top-flight clashes have ended in victory for VfB, who could equal their longest ever winning run against SCF (four wins between 2001 and 2004).
However, SCF have only celebrated as many home victories against Borussia Mönchengladbach as they have against VfB Stuttgart (8 each).
Freiburg have collected seven points from their last three games, the second-highest amount in that timeframe after FC Bayern (9).
VfB have only had fewer than nine points after 12 games once before: In 1974/75, a season which ended in relegation (8 points, converted to the 3-points-per-win system).
For the first time in over four years, VfB have been bottom of the table on two consecutive matchdays - that last happened from matchday 7-9 in 2010/11. SCF have won their last three matches against the side at the foot of the league table.
Freiburg have conceded three goals in the last 10 minutes of games this season (most recently in the 88th minute in Mainz), costing them victory each time. Their tally of six points dropped in the final 10 minutes of games is a league high.
Stuttgart are without a BL goal in three games (or 276 minutes). They have never gone four games without a goal in their 50-year top-flight history.
VfB have failed to score in six games this season (the same as Köln) - only HSV have failed to find the back of the net in more matches (7). However, Stuttgart didn't register a goal in seven of their first 12 games in 2009/10 (club record) but ended the campaign in sixth.
Freiburg haven't lost any of their last five BL games on a Friday (W2, D3), while VfB have failed to win any of their last 5 BL games on a Friday (D2, L3).
Stuttgart have only conceded as many goals after 12 games as they have at present (26) once before: In 1974/75, a season which ended in relegation. SCF, on the other hand, have only conceded fewer goals at this stage than at present (16, the same as in 1998/99) once before: 14 after 12 games in 2012/13.
After three BL defeats in a row, Armin Veh resigned as VfB coach following the 1-0 loss to Augsburg. His successor is his predecessor: Huub Stevens led Stuttgart to Bundesliga safety in 2013/14, taking over on matchday 25 and picking up 12 points from 10 games.
Mainz have won just one of their last 12 BL meetings with Schalke: A 3-1 away victory in May 2011. Otherwise, they have recorded four draws and seven defeats, also failing to score on eight occasions in that timeframe (8 goals scored in total, an average of 0.7 per game).
However, there has only been one home win in the last 10 competitive meetings between Mainz and Schalke: S04 secured a 3-0 BL victory in September 2012. Otherwise, there have been five away wins and four draws.
Including last season, Schalke are unbeaten in their last seven BL home games (W5, D2). Their last defeat on home soil was a 1-0 loss to Gladbach at the end of April - it is also their only defeat in their last 18 BL home games (W14, D3).
There's no place like home: Roberto Di Matteo has won all three of his BL home games against Schalke (2-0 vs. Berlin, 1-0 vs. Augsburg, 3-2 vs. Wolfsburg) - however, his two away fixtures have both ended in defeat.
No side has collected as few points as Mainz over the last four matchdays (2). FSV still remain in the top half of the table though, currently sitting in ninth.
Mainz have led in seven games this season, but have won just three of them (D3, L1) - only Hoffenheim have dropped as many points from winning positions (9). The 05ers only squandered nine points after taking the lead throughout the whole of last season (W16, L3).
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar wasn't involved in a shot (shot or key pass) in the recent meeting with Wolfsburg. That's only been the case for him once before in the German top flight: In a 2-0 loss in Leverkusen on 17th November 2012.
Schalke have taken just 45 shots in their five BL games under Roberto Di Matteo, an average of 9.0 per game. No other side has as low an average across the entire season.
Roberto Di Matteo and Kasper Hjulmand have faced each other as coaches before - it was a Champions League clash. Hjulmand, then manager of Danish side FC Nordsjaelland, hosted Di Matteo's Chelsea in October 2012 and lost 4-0.
There are just 14.6 km separating the clubs' two stadiums - no two other Bundesliga grounds are as close.
Bayer 04 have lost just two of their last 18 top-flight meetings with Köln (both in 2011). Otherwise, they have recorded 12 wins and four draws in that timeframe.
Leverkusen confirmed Köln's relegation in 1997/98 after a 2-2 draw - it was the first time the Billy Goats had left the Bundesliga, 35 years after its inception in 1963.
Bayer 04 haven't lost to Köln in the Bundesliga after taking a lead - they have gone in front on 32 occasions without suffering defeat (W20, D12).
Leverkusen are unbeaten in their last 10 BL home games (W5, D5) - their last defeat on home soil was a 3-2 loss to Hoffenheim at the end of March. Only Wolfsburg are currently on a longer unbeaten run at home (11 games).
Promoted side Köln are the best away team in the league with 10 points from six games. Two thirds of their 15 points have come on the road - no other side has as high a percentage.
Leverkusen have already hit the woodwork 12 times this season - a league high. Karim Bellarabi (3 times) leads the statistics in terms of individual players, together with Bayern's Arjen Robben and Augsburg's Tobias Werner.
Stefan Kießling scored his first BL goal in 858 minutes last weekend. It was the end of a negative record run for him - he had never had to wait as long between two goals before.
Augsburg have won four of their six BL games against Hamburg (D1, L1), including each of the last three. Bremen and Stuttgart are the only other sides that FCA have also won four BL matches against - they haven't beaten any club more often.
Hamburg have won just 17% of their BL games against Augsburg - their win percentage isn't as low against any other Bundesliga side that they have played more than once.
HSV have lost 14 of their last 17 BL away matches. Only Schalke (three points) are behind Hamburg in the away table (four points, 1-8 goal record). HSV have never had just one goal to their name after six away games before.
Augsburg have won three of their last four BL games and are having the best season in their top-flight history: Their tallies of 18 points, 15 goals scored and just 12 goals conceded are all club records at this stage of the season.
Only Frankfurt (1970/71 and 1988/89) and Cottbus (2002/03) have had a worse attack after 12 games (5 goals each) than Hamburg at present (6 goals, like 3 teams before them).
Augsburg's current position (6th) is their best ever BL ranking - the only other time they have been as high in the standings was after matchday 5 last season.
Including last season, FCA have collected 22 out of a possible 27 points from their last nine BL home games. Their only defeat in that timeframe was a 3-2 loss at home to Dortmund on matchday 2 (otherwise W7, D1).
Paul Verhaegh equalled his own personal season record in Stuttgart by scoring his fourth goal of the campaign (all penalties). In Europe's top five leagues, only Cristiano Ronaldo (6) has converted more spot kicks in 2014/15 than the FCA captain.
Jan-Ingwer Callsen-Bracker is set to make his 100th Bundesliga appearance for FCA (8 goals).
Hertha have won just one of their last 21 BL games against Bayern (D5, L15) - each of the last six meetings have ended in defeat. Berlin have never suffered a losing streak like that against FCB before.
Bayern have set a new club record: Never before had the Munich side conceded just three goals in the opening 12 games of a BL season - only VfB Stuttgart can boast a better record (2 goals conceded at the same stage in 2003/04).
FCB have had the most corners in the league (100), but haven't scored from any of them.
Hertha have committed the most fouls in the top flight (238), while Bayern have committed the fewest (130).
Former Bayern player Thomas Kraft (12 BL games in 2010/11) has saved just 59% of the shots on his goal (18th place of 20 keepers) - his opposite number, Manuel Neuer, has the best save percentage in the division (90%).
Franck Ribery could make his 185th BL appearance in this match, equalling the most by a French player in the competition (Matthieu Delpierre - 185). He has also scored 99 goals for Bayern and could net his 100th in this match.
Jos Luhukay has lost four of his five BL games that he's managed against Bayern (one draw) and is on the brink of recording his 50th defeat as a Bundesliga manager (currently on 49 from 103 games).
FCB haven't conceded a goal in eight BL games in 2014/15 with Rafinha on the pitch (622 minutes). The Brazilian has scored two goals against Hertha in the Bundesliga, more than against any other side.
Arjen Robben has been involved in eight goals in eight games (five goals + three assists) and has had a hand in a goal every 76 minutes on average - the best record this season amongst all BL players who have scored or assisted at least four goals.
This is the first competitive meeting between the two sides. SCP have faced Werder's reserves twice before though (2008/09 third-division campaign - Paderborn won 3-2 in Bremen, but lost 2-0 at home).
Werder have won three of their four competitive games under Viktor Skripnik, but suffered a setback with their 2-0 derby defeat to HSV. Also, SVW have won just one of their five BL home games this season (D2, L2).
Paderborn are without a win in four BL away games and have lost three of them. They have also conceded a total of 10 goals in those four matches. SCP's first away trip in the top flight ended with a 3-0 win at HSV.
With 26 goals conceded (the same as Stuttgart), Bremen have the worst defence in the Bundesliga and have kept just one clean sheet this season - in their recent 2-0 home win over Stuttgart.
SCP picked up a point from two goals down for the first time in the BL during their 2-2 draw with Dortmund. Paderborn have collected five points from losing positions (the same as Leverkusen) - only Frankfurt (8) and Bremen (7) have claimed more after going behind.
Bremen have gone behind in 11 games (no other team in more than 9). Still, Frankfurt (8) are the only side that have picked up more points from losing positions than Werder (7).
Only Bayern (15) have scored more second-half goals than Paderborn (14, the same as Wolfsburg). The promoted side have netted 78% (14 of 18) of their goals after the break.
With six league goals to his name this season, Bremen's Franco Di Santo shares third place in the goalscoring charts. Five of those six goals have come away from home though.
Paderborn's Florian Hartherz (10 BL games for Bremen), Daniel Brückner (reserves) and Jens Wemmer (youth) all used to wear Werder colours.
SCP's last 11 goals have been scored by 11 different players. In total, 12 different names have featured on the scoresheet for Paderborn in the Bundesliga this season, more than at any other top-flight club.
Against no other side have 1899 Hoffenheim celebrated as many BL wins (7) or scored as many BL goals (25) as they have against Hannover 96.
Hannover have travelled to Hoffenheim six times before in the BL. The Lower Saxony club have never returned home with three points: They have recorded two draws and four defeats.
After Hoffenheim went unbeaten in the opening nine BL games (W4, D5), they have suffered three straight defeats in November (3-1 in Gladbach, 4-3 against Köln, 4-0 in Munich).
With just 10 league goals this season, Hannover have the second-worst attack in the division (Hamburger SV: 6). The Lower Saxony club have had a worse return after 12 BL games just once before: They had netted just nine times in 1970/71.
Hoffenheim have conceded a total of 11 goals in their last three games - it's the first time in their BL history that TSG have let in three goals or more in three consecutive top-flight games.
Hannover 96 have won their last two away games without conceding (1-0 in Dortmund, 2-0 in Berlin). That last happened in September/October 2007.
Hiroshi Kiyotake has been involved in four of Hannover's last five BL goals (2 goals + 2 assists) and also took the free kick that led the own goal by Eintracht Frankfurt's Alexander Madlung, which was enough for a 1-0 win on matchday 10.
Sejad Salihovic hasn't scored more goals against any other BL team as he has against Hannover. The midfielder has netted five times in nine games against Hannover (the same as against Bremen).
Borussia have won just two of their last 13 BL games against the Wolves (D3, L8). In total, they have lost 57% of their games against Wolfsburg (16 out of 28) - their loss percentage isn't as high against any other Bundesliga club.
The Wolves have won eight of their last nine home games against the Foals (1 draw). Wolfsburg's last home defeat to Gladbach was over 11 years ago (3-1 in November 2003).
Wolfsburg beat Gladbach 3-1 at home on last season's final matchday to secure a spot in the Europa League group phase. The defeat meant Borussia had to go through the qualifying rounds.
The Wolves have won each of their last five home games, something they last did in their 2008/09 title-winning season. In total, VfL are unbeaten in their last 11 home matches (8 wins).
Lucien Favre's side have suffered back-to-back league defeats for the first time since February this year - that was a run of three straight losses, a negative record under Favre.

Luiz Gustavo is unavailable after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season. This is already his fifth BL suspension since joining the Wolves in summer 2013.

Robin Knoche made his BL debut in August 2011 in Gladbach's 4-1 win over his Wolfsburg side (he was brought on in the 84th minute). His partner in central defence, Naldo, is set for his 250th top-flight appearance.
Lucien Favre suffered his first defeat as Gladbach manager in February 2011 in Wolfsburg (2-1) - it was also his first away game with Borussia.
Dortmund have won 39 of their 82 BL games against Frankfurt (D16, L27) - BVB haven't collected as many top-flight wins against any other side.
BVB have won each of their last three BL games against Frankfurt and haven't lost any of the last five (W4, D1). Dortmund have scored 15 goals in that timeframe, conceding just five.
Since the three-points-per-win system was introduced in 1995/96, no team with 11 points or fewer after 12 matchdays has ever finished in the top four.
The best end-of-season ranking for a side with no more than 11 points after 12 games since 1995/96 was Stuttgart's sixth-place finish in 2009/10 (after having 10 points from 12 games).
Frankfurt are the only side to have come from behind to win a game twice in the BL this season and have collected the most points from losing positions (8).
During their 2-2 draw in Paderborn, Dortmund dropped points after taking a two-goal lead for the first time since September 2012. Back then, they recorded a 3-3 draw in Frankfurt - that remains the last point that Eintracht have taken from BVB.

Marco Reus has been involved in 31 goals in 29 competitive games for BVB during 2014 (17 goals + 14 assists) - the most amongst all BL players in this calendar year. However, he's now out until after the winter break with an ankle ligament injury.
