Saints will struggle to stop Rhino's charge

Super League Champions, Leeds Rhinos are back in action live on Sky on Friday night.

St Helens are the challengers looking to inflict Leeds' opening defeat of the season and draw first blood in this year's clashes between these two titans of Super League.

Having been drawn to face each other in the Fourth Round of the Challenge Cup in a fortnight, both sides will want to show their dominance ahead of the knockout fixture. It will be a physical and close game where every mistake will be punished.

Leeds Rhino's were on top form last week against Wigan. In our weekly Super League podcast, Barrie McDermott says it was their best performance since last year's Grand Final and has taken Leeds as his Bet of the Week. "It's not rocket surgery saying things like that," he goes on to say, but he's right about last week.

Everything went their way - every bounce, every decision - but the Rhinos could have beaten anyone last Friday at Headingley with their flowing rugby, players freely rotating positions and superb, dominating positional kicking.

Terry O'Connor, who also features each week in the Super League podcast, thinks that home advantage and the intensity of Leeds' game last week will see the game go in favour of St Helens.

The William Hill odds compilers can't split the sides with the main handicap being off scratch with both sides at 10/11. This means that, if you do favour either side, there is some value to be found in the range of 30 markets available on this game.

In their last two games, against Warrington and Wigan, they got off to tremendous starts. With two unanswered tries in the first ten minutes last week and sitting 12-0 up after just six minutes against Warrington they really know how to get out of the blocks fast.

This considered you can take 7/5 that the first scoring play of the match is a Leeds Try or 10/11 they score the first points of the game.
