Wigan Warriors favourites across the board this season

With the Super League kicking off this weekend, William Hill make the Wigan Warriors the favourites to win the three biggest prizes in European Rugby League. They are 6/4 to win the regular season, 2/1 to win the Grand Final and 3/1 the Challenge Cup. Hills are offering 6/1 that any side wins the domestic treble and 10/3 that any side wins the 2011 Grand Final and Challenge Cup. 50/1 is on offer for any side to remain undefeated for the entire regular season. Bradford Bulls and their 14 new signings are undoubtedly the story of the off-season and are the current biggest losers, at 25/1, to win the Grand Final.

"Wigan are favourites to win everything after an outstanding 2010 but sleeping giants Bradford are the team we need to get beat after a serious off-season gamble," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly.

Last season, Wigan won the regular season and the Grand Final, while Warrington won the Challenge Cup and Hills are 20/1 that history repeats itself this season.

Wigan's Darrell Goulding is 10/1 to be Super League's top try scorer this season with his team-mate Sam Tomkins, 7/1 to win the Man of Steel Award. The Albert Goldthorpe Medal betting is headed by 2009 winner Michael Dobson (Hull KR) and one of last year's shared winners Sam Tomkins (Wigan). The Rookie of the Year Award has been the subject of a massive gamble on Jermaine McGilvary of Huddersfield, who has been backed in from 20/1 to become the 8/1 favourite.

"McGilvary has shown some promise in pre-season, chipping in with a few tries, however, he will have to displace one of Michael Lawrence or David Hodgson in order to earn enough playing time to warrant the significant gamble on him," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly.
