Pumas to prey on the Irish
Argentina face Ireland at Croke Park on Saturday in a must win match for Declan Kidney’s side.
Ireland need to win to prevent becoming a third level seed for the 2011 World Cup.
Ireland also have a score to settle, as it was the Pumas who knocked the Irish out of last year’s World Cup.
However, the World Cup semi-finalists look like a good bet to beat Ireland on the handicap.
So far in the Autumn Tests, the Pumas beat Italy, 22-14, last week and the week before lost, 12-6, to France. The French are a better side than Ireland but struggled to put points on the board, so Ireland may find the handicap is too much to overcome.
Argentina will be without influential captain, and Leinster centre, Felipe Contepomi due to injury which is a massive blow.
Declan Kidney has recalled Leicester’s Geordan Murphy at the expense of Leinster full-back Girvan Dempsey. Murphy looks like a reasonable bet at odds of 7/2 to score a try.
