Rugby World Cup: Bookies predict £50 million plus turnover!

William Hill believe that for the first time in the history of the game, over £50 million will be gambled on the Rugby World Cup in 2007.

'Pre-Tournament tournament is up by around 33% on last time and this World Cup looks sure to smash all existing Rugby betting records," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.

New Zealand V Tonga:
The curtain raiser is expected to be a bruising encounter between New Zealand & Tonga with the All Blacks the overwhelming favourites at 1/1000.

New Zealand are 6/4 to score eleven or more tries in the game and Hills are 8/13 that a Yellow card is shown in the match.

"Tonga are not as skilled as New Zealand but they are as physical as their bitter rivals and this could be a bad tempered affair," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.

Wilkinson has been confirmed as England's starting number 10 and he is 66/1 to be named the BBC Sports Personality Of The Year for a second time come December. "A England victory would be a financial disaster for us but with the Southern Hemisphere looking so strong we are happy to take them on at 16/1," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adasn.
