Wilko vs Flood - who'll get the World Cup spot?

Jonny Wilkinson produced a brilliant all round performance against Wales, but William Hill think that while improving his chances, he is not yet the first choice fly half ahead of the World Cup.

He is 4/11 to not start England's first game of the World Cup, 2/1 to start. Manu Tuilagi scored a debut try for Martin Johnson's men and Hills make him 3/1 to start against Argentina.

England are the 11/1 fourth favourites to win the World Cup, behind the tri-nations countries and Chris Ashton is 12/1 to be the top try scorer and 1/16 to start the first game of the World Cup.

Mark Cueto is 33/1 to be top tournament try scorer and he is 2/7 to start England's World Cup opener.

"Jonny Wilkinson proved to be the match winner for England, but this may not be enough to earn him a start in the World Cup opener," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly.

"But whatever happens, the battle between Wilko and his former understudy, Toby Flood, in the build up to the World Cup will be fascinating."
