Championship League Snooker – Group Four

Championship League snooker continues on Wednesday and with a chance to play in the lucrative Premier League up for grabs the stakes couldn't be higher!

Group Four sees three more stars join John Higgins, Neil Robertson, Barry Hawkins and Group Three's unlucky runner-up Mark J Williams, as the winners' group starts to take shape.

The three men entering into Group Four are Jamie Cope, Stuart Bingham and Dave Harold.

Group Three proved as exciting as ever as Joe Perry scraped through to the play-off rounds before finding his rhythm to dispatch of Neil Robertson and Mark J Williams while dropping just one frame. The two players surprisingly departing after finishing sixth and seventh are Ding Junhui and Ali Carter.

Perry joins the past two group winners Mark Selby and Mark Allen safe in the knowledge that he potentially has a ticket to Premier League action.

All of the players are of course chasing the lucrative prize of a place in next year's Premier League which awaits the winner of the winners' group. But this week is also an ideal chance for these players to get in some key match practice ahead of the Welsh Open which starts 16 February.

Held at Crondon Park Golf Club in Essex, each group is played over two days of fast and furious snooker, with each match the best of four frames - which, interestingly, brings the draw into play. Each player will play the others once; the top four in the table will go into the best-of-five semi-finals, where the eventual winner progresses to the winners' group, to be held 25-26 March. The losing finalist, two losing semi-finalists and the player ranked fifth all get another chance in the next group, where they're joined by three new professionals.
