Scots will be tight
John Higgins and Stephen Maguire meet in the quarter final of the UK Championship this lunchtime in Telford.
The Scottish pair both come into the game showing solid form with Higgins looking a shade better, hence the 4/5 odds making him favourite.
There's little in it, Maguire is 10/11, and it's clear that last year's runner-up in the UK Championship is not yet at his best.
The game should be close, maybe going all the way. In the frame betting you can back Higgins or Maguire to win 9-8 or 9-7 at 6/1 about each of those four outcomes.
If the odds are right and it is a close contest then you could do worse than backing Stephen Maguire +1.5 frames on the handicap at 4/7.
The remaining quarter final tie features 2007 semi-finalist Shaun Murphy against Stephen Lee. Neither player has looked particularly convincing in the previous rounds but with ranking points and prize money reaching serious levels we might see some of the skills that these two are capable of.
Former world-champion Murphy is fancied at 4/7 with Lee the 5/4 outsider.
Both games start at 13:30 and will be covered live on the BBC and online and we will have prices available throughout the games.
